Peking Dragon Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Paintsville

They are terrific people! Food was really great. We got there just at closing time before they started cleaning up but doors were locked. I knocked on the door and they let me come in and make up trays for my wife and I. Pretty good size buffet, it was 4 different buffet Hot bars and an ice cream machine. Have a huge lamp with crystals and a spinning orb atop that was custom made in NYC and was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. Point being, food was wonderful, had leftovers, Staff was great and they didn't have to let me in but they did and it was a well worth the visit. Great people, Great food, Great atmosphere, Great location, and everything was clean which meant alot too considering they were close to ten minutes away from being done for the day. Thank you Staff at Peking Duck. My wife and I really appreciate everything and loved the food. No complaints except our fault for not knowing the restaurant having just been driving through from Virginia. P. S. I have had appointments in Paintsville once a month for several years and we always eat there afterwords. I've bragged the best Chinese place in Eastern Ky for years. Today we walked in to a cashier trying to ring up a group of special needs adults. It was crowded so we moved out of the way. After awhile of not being seated I asked a larger woman if we could sit down. She snapped at me and said no! That's not how it works! Now I have to go get you a ticket! I'm aware of how it works. We were just tired of standing in the way. A greasy haired young man took our drink order and brought out our bill before we even took a bite. We didn't get his attention our whole meal and I finally hunted him down to get a drink refill. What food we got was as good as a always but they were out of several...

Never had an issue with this place until Peking took over. I have had gastric sleeve surgery and can only eat a small amount. I asked if I could get a to go tray to get a small amount of food I could tolerate, pay for it, and sit with my family as they were eating. I was told absolutely not. They said I could order from the menu, but I couldn’t get the food I wanted from the buffet. I told them I didn’t want a whole meal, because it would be a waste, but they were very rude and said I absolutely couldn’t buy what I wanted to eat and eat with my family. While standing there the waitress brought a gentleman a box of free rice and a free soda. I thought, WOW they can give food away, but I can’t pay for a small amount of food to eat while my family were eating....
