Birrieria Sinaloense — Restaurant in Palmhurst

So a friend of ours suggested this spot and so I decided to come with my wife and give it a try. First good sign was that it was busy on a Sunday afternoon around 3pm. Personally another good sign is seeing family around. A young man greeted us and later I saw him tending to the tables and constantly checking on the diners to see if anything was needed. The lady at the counter was also very friendly and knew right away I'd be ordering more. lol

Now the menu is pretty basic, but their most ordered menu items are of course, Tacos de Birria. So we got those and I'm about to get their Torta Birria.

I really like that their Tacos/Tortillas are not overly oiled like other Birria spots. Iykyk (and for those who don't, an overly oiled tortilla starts to break and fall apart the moment you lift. While the meat is mild in taste, it was still a very good taco. The broth it comes with is also pretty light but still has a good taste (I prefer my broths deeper in beef flavor) They have canned drinks and even Mexican sodas (Joya & Mexican Cola) Overall flavor-wise 7.5/10 Wife enjoyed it too but thought the flavors were light. Where to start? The birrieria everything here is exactly what dreams are made of. The place is unassuming and even the chef is a bit too humble. If it was in a dressed up location, no one would bat an eye paying double/triple what they charge now. Best meal I’ve had in town and I’m already sad that I might never get the chance to eat here again.

Tacos - they usually come with the onions and cilantro on the side / I would suggest you ask them to put them on. Then, you’ll get 2 bottled sauces if you dine in. Use them both religiously. A little squeeze of lime (which they provide) and you’re in heaven.

This food has changed my life, it's touched my heart, and has set a new standard in my eyes for how good food in general can be. I can say, without hesitation, that the birria I had was quite literally, with no exaggeration, the best meal I've ever had in my life. Their homemade chips were amazing and the special sauce was fantastic. We talked to the owners for quite a bit and they are some of the nicest people and you can tell they truly care about the quality as well as the authenticity of the food.

One more thing. Best. Consommé. Ever.

I live a few states away but if I'm ever within even 5 hours of this place again, I'm definitely making time to come down and experience it...
