Overpriced, not fresh and mediocre flavor. Come check it out if you like your food old and microwaved.
Ordered: masala cheese grill sandwich paneer Tikka cheese Frankie Royal Falooda drink.
Drove 8 minutes home and when I opened the bag I immediately wished I just got Wendy’s instead.
The Frankie was actually inedible, and it takes a lot for me to not eat something. The naan/wrap was hard (not chewy) and almost translucent- clearly a microwaved wrap that was made days ago. But the real shock was how ROCK HARD the paneer cubes (cheese) were. I thought they left a chicken bone in there. Another indicator of their cooking, excuse me- microwaving, prowess. I’ve not once sent back food in a restaurant, but if this wasn’t takeout, I for sure would have.
The sandwich was fine but also 22 dollars for a vegetarian sandwich???
Finally the Falooda drink. Look at the fancy milky beverage in the pictures people uploaded. Looks good right? $15 for a dessert, okay fine. But when he handed me an 8 oz cup I couldn’t believe it. $15 for a cup the size of your fist is wild. Go to any decent bubble tea spot and get a large drink of choice with toppings- wouldn’t even cost you $10. Here you can pay more and get a small cup of milk with syrup, small scoop of vanilla ice cream, nuts and rice/noodles.
Final note- they don’t have menus and instead direct you to QR code to a page with a list of their menu items and prices. If you’re not familiar with Indian food names, you have to go to ubereats to get a picture or a description of the food. WHAT YEAR IS THIS. We lived with QR code menus in Covid but we’re years removed from it- just get menus!
Will add that the place has a fun decor and the guy behind the counter...
Read moreSummary: Very good and authentic tasting food but quite overpriced and cutlery/plates were not worth the price (everything was paper/plastic, and no table service).
Desperately searching for a new Indian option/joint just somewhat near me I found this place, one that would simulate the Indian street food experience, at least according to their reviews.
When entering the store the atmosphere was pleasant and the photos and murals were pleasant. Some music was playing and the tables were named after stops of what I believe is the Mumbai local.
Taking a seat I noticed the first thing that annoyed me a little bit: the lack of a physical menu. While this isn't much of a big deal it is one of my pet peeves. QR coding the menu I noticed my biggest point about the restaurant - the exorbitant prices.
For an Indian restaurant (ESPECIALLY a street food one) the prices were higher than they should be. Adamant, I only bought a little.
The food was great and was truly like food from India, but it was also served quite plainly on paper plates, conceding for the price of the food in question. Plastic utensils too. Plus, no table service is huge. I get it, it's like street food, but for the price you come to expect better service/utensils.
The store was not crowded.
Vegetarian options were delightfully provided. The vada pav was pretty good and the Paneer Tikka Masala was very authentic and had a great tang to it, though there were no mirchis inside of it.
The quantity was also small, so if you're feeding a hungry crowd expect to get double servings.
This restaurant is good for lunch to pop in and get a vada pav or a bhaji but for a full meal it's not worth it unless you have a large...
Read moreHorrible. Terrible service and my family left the restaurant hungry after an hour. We called in the afternoon and asked if they take reservations and if they make Jain food. They said no reservations, just walk-in, and they could make everything Jain (Chinese, Chaat, Sandwich, and more). We went at night at around 7:30ish on a Sunday and asked for a table. The owner said they're busy right now so to wait around 15-30 minutes. We said okay and asked again what Jain food they make. He said Chinese, Chaat, and Sandwich, listing a few other items. We said okay and prepared our order during the wait. We come in 40 mins later and he has the guy move old boxes off the back table and sat us there. We asked to be moved, he said no, and we said fine. We went to place our order he said they are out of Chinese food for the day and don't make sandwiches. Only Jain option is Chaat. A family of 5 eating just Chaat?! I asked this same guy over the phone and in person and he said he could make everything before and not anymore? After 1 hour+ of just waiting we left to Mantra in Parsippany and had an amazing dinner with great service.
In short- horrible service. A) The owners need to hire proper staff that actually know how to run the place. They should be able to gauge table time, what items they have, and how to talk to people. The owner was VERY RUDE AND I WOULD HATE DEALING WITH HIM. B) EVERY Person was waiting at least 40 mins for their orders. People were complaining the entire time.
Do not recommend eating here. Service is horrible. Only good thing is the walls with bangles and pictures. I would ask the owner(s) to fix up their processes then...
