This evening my girlfriend and I chose fresh market for the second time in a month for our dine in date. Just like any other Friday night the place was packed and waitresses we're running ragged to the best of their ability...there were many tables open between the lower and upper area combined I'd say filled to 80% capacity (I'll will diverge on this shortly) and the waiting area was packed and the hostess were seating us according to the size of the parties and the area open considering the stress of each waitress NOT chosen by where you were in line in means of arrival(and in this day and time I personally believe that's the correct way to do it). The hostess seated us asap and immediately our waitress approached us to take our drink order which included sweet teas and some mixed drinks from the bar. Immediately upon us being assigned a table.. an elder gentleman and lady that arrived with us the same time we did( I know this because I held the door open for them) became irate and began going off on the hostess I'm assuming simply because their name was taken before ours and we were seated before they were(both of us waited about 15 minutes for our table). The hostess then did her best to accommodate the infuriated gentleman and sat them in the (freshly needed bussed) table next to us. The waitress brought us our drinks.. seemed very distraught and I provided a light joke to try to make her smile along with making the quick statement( your more beautiful when you smile) and she kind of grinned and walked over to the aggravated couple to receive their drink order. This particular moment did not upset my significant other in any way because she knew what I was doing and it's my personality. Within 5 minutes we had our appetizers and our second round of drinks and the other couple had their drinks and food order taken. At this point the infuriated couple aggressively left their booth and left the restaurant. After receiving our appetizers and now our 3rd round of drinks we inquired a Togo box for our main course of our meal simply to keep the traffic moving through the restaurant (not for any other reason) paid our tab ..and left an good tip for the waitress. I understand this is a long review but I explained all of that to say this being my main point I want everyone to pay attention to and learn from. Unless your an employer in today's day and age or have a job that interacts with the general public..you have little to no idea or a legitimate argument at that matter to have a "perfect" or impatient personality. These establishments are lucky if just half of their scheduled staff show up for work and put forth ambition while there. Most places are understaffed due to the laziness of today's population let alone arrogant upbringing. So if you have to wait a little extra long for a table or your order might not be completely to your liking or the way you ordered it...either roll up your sleeves and help fix the problem or sit down and shut up!!!! Endless kuddos to the waitress who held her composure while dealing with a distraught customer and continued doing her job without missing a best. And overall kuddos to the staff and the fresh market restaurant for showing up for work and continuing to do your best to the best of your ability. I've been a avid long time customer here and will continue to do so! Good day to you all and...
Read moreI recently dined at Fresh Market in Paris, Tennessee, and had a less than enjoyable experience. Our waitress Alexa seemed quite inattentive and made several mistakes throughout our meal.
Firstly, she brought me the wrong food, which was disappointing. Additionally, my nephew's glass was left empty, and I had to ask for a refill myself on more than one occasion. When we requested A-1 sauce, she handed us a bottle that had about a teaspoon of sauce , which was quite frustrating.
Both steaks we ordered were 3/4 fat and inedible, adding to our dissatisfaction with the meal. Not to mention they weren't cooked to order.
My nephew ordered the chicken strip meal which she returned to the table and asked if we would like the childs plate. The waitress was informed that he was 11 and the menu stated 10. She stated that was fine so we agreed since we knew that would be just enough for him. She then returned to the table inforning us that the childs plate did not come with a salad. We asked if he would like one and he wanted a salad to which she informed us that it would be a $3 additional charge. However, when the bill arrived, we were charged $7.99 for the house salad (which is a plate of spring mix, 1 small wedge of a tomato, and butter sized ramekin of dressing). When we questioned the discrepancy, she nonchalantly said, I wasn't going to charge full price for the salad, but it was "only $2 more" than what she initially mentioned, even though it was clearly $7.99.
Overall, the service and food quality left much to be desired, and I hope the management at Fresh Market addresses these issues to improve the dining experience for future customers, I was going to mention this to the manager before we left for the night, but the manager was very busy and I was completely disgusted and did not want to...
Read moreFood was great, service however...makes the experience bad to the point of not wanting to return. So we were in Paris during our Anniversary for the day and decided to go to a non chain restaurant before heading home. Having never been to the establishment and knowing nothing about it I had middle of the road expectations that I have for any given place to be considered satisfactory. We showed up a few minutes before they opened and were seated quickly as one of maybe 3 families there. By time we left seriously 2 hours later there was a long wait time and packed lobby.we watched as guests who sat down after us received their food, ate and left before we ever received our salad and then our food. We were visibly displeased by the 3rd occasion of a group receiving their food before we received our salad even. When the salad came for my wife and mine to my 6 year old I asked our waiter when the food would be coming out, at least for the kids. He proceeded to explain the procedure of food order gets put in once you receive your salad. By this time my 2 year old who has managed to be well behaved is starting to loose focus. I understand that procedure, IF it actually works. It apparently does not work. IF your kitchen is efficient enough to handle cooking the food once the salad is delivered for fast non pressured flow of food, then do it. I would say this place can do it...if the right people are doing it. My server apparently can not do it at the very least. Others were seen bringing his tables food out here and there which leads me to believe it was on him that the service failed and not the set up of how the system is supposed to run. He failed the system, which then failed the customer, which has failed to make them...
