This is by far the best BBQ I have ever eaten in my entire (long) life. I am not kidding, I have always heard of people swearing by some place and it has never lived up to their claims, all of them were this way, but not here. I have eaten a a few BBQ places in and around Paris in the year since I moved here, and just by searching on Google Maps I saw this place and then saw it on Facebook. Nothing at all different about that, I guess, but my wife and I decided to drive to downtown and try it out. We BOTH felt the same way about the food here, and that by itself is a rarity. I swear, I literally felt euphoric after eating it, it was perfect, I had the sliced beef with some marbling, cole slaw, and their GOOD beans! My wife had the sliced beef lean, cole saw and their GOOD beans, plus she also had their banana pudding. Their banana pudding was really something too, (she let me taste it) so I will have to get my own the next time. Really, after we bought it and took it home to eat, we actually both felt so good it was strange, I know nothing's in there to make us feel that way, but it was that good! I cannot wait to go back, we were going to go back on Saturday and try their ribs but circumstances made it to where we will just have to wait until next week-end. Thanks, Phat Phil's for actually doing something right, it was an enlightening experience for my wife and I. Oh yeah, they are fast, very friendly and helpful, so it's a WIN-WIN-WIN for anybody that is on the fence about that place. (The other BBQ places, at least for me are not even in the running, and no, I don't even know them at all, it was my...
Read morePhat Phil's BBQ is amazing!! This was our first visit so we went with the MOAB sandwich... brisket AND sausage... Then the owners were so nice as to give us some ribs to try... Wow!!! Fantastic ribs. To top it off we had banana pudding... home made... I would make the 2 hour drive just for the pudding!! The staff was great!! Very friendly!! They have a drive up window or you can eat inside or outside under a shelter. It appears the location used to be a gas station long ago. Wonderful use of the space. It is really a fantastic business!!
Please be aware that they may run out of food prior to closing time. At 2pm on a Saturday they were already out of pulled pork and I got their last banana pudding. So, I recommend coming as early as possible to avoid missing out on their delicious food. I am definitely coming back and bringing...
Read moreStopped by today for lunch on way thru town. Owners are really nice people serving more than nice bbq! Had a sliced beef sandwhich sauce on side and hubby had the moab sandwhich that has sausage and chopped beef. Coleslaw and potato salad rounded out the food. Sliced beef was most and had a nice smoke ring. Not over spiced in the rub and really great bark. Mainly lean on sandwhich ordered some sliced marbled to go home with though and it looked awesome. Hubby liked his sandwhich anf atr all of it somehow as both were quite large. Coleslaw was tangy and creamy and made with actual shreeded cabbage not the chopped stuff. Tater salad was on mustard side and good ratio of onion and pickle. Was tasty. They do need a baked bean selection imho lol but i am partial as not fond of other beans for bbq. All around paris texas lucky...
