Extremely disappointed, the prices are fair range for the type of food served, however I believe they should focus on less complete meals and work on individual entrees better, and the reason why I say this, I’m from out of town, my local diner is much better because the food actually tastes like something. I guess the food was prepared for a different clientele? There was also a weird white oily haze on the top of my drink, probably mold from the beverage machine? I thought this would be a good place because of the raving reviews but I left only eating half of my food and feeling sick.

The outside looks are very deceiving, it’s not terrible on the inside though! The tables are a little wobbly but that’s alright, the blinds are a little tattered. The service was actually great! Attentive and friendly, the only disturbing thing is, they had my food out in 5 minutes, I ordered Chicken Fried Steak…

I personally believe the person cooking needs to slow down and focus on the taste of the food, as well as using more quality ingredients. Stuff only tastes this bland if you’re not seasoning anything or you’re freezing your chicken fried steaks the night before (which by the way… is really gross.)

I really hate to leave a review like this on a well renowned diner in an area I’m not from, but maybe something like this is what they...

I saw this place passing thru on the way back to Rockport after visiting my Mom for her Bday in Kansas...about 1130am sat morn... driving a long ways and belly growling landed me there. has the most epic awesome home cooked meal than I have had in a very long time as far as mom n pop old school diners and cafes like I grew up eating at with my family as a kid and this place reminded me of that. I had a chicken fried steak that was delicous, pinto beans that had a very good flavor, homemade ''creamed'' potatos with white gravy which also toppped the steak...battered fried okra that was to die for, a huge dinner roll and some kind of dessert that was like a cobbler not sure but was also delicious. and a dr. pepper to wash it down. And the crazy part of all that is when I was rang up the total was only $8.50. I was like are you serious right now in my head lol.

I will definitely come back for more, I heard the meatloaf there cannot be beat. They have daily specials and even on saturday so they rock. Dont hesitate to stop there you would be a fool to miss out on this good home style cooking that smacks of americana that is...

This diner is the kind of place that feels like a warm welcome the moment you step in—very small-town Texas through and through. The place was hopping, which is always a good sign, and the service was fantastic. The staff were friendly, quick with refills, and made you feel right at home.

The food? Classic diner fare done right. My meal hit the spot without trying too hard, and it’s clear they know their way around comfort food. But then came the cobbler… and wow. I’ve got a sweet tooth, but this was next level. It was like they measured the sugar with a snow shovel. A bit too much for me, but if you're into desserts that make your dentist nervous, this one's for you!

The only thing that gave me pause was the cleanliness—nothing too wild, just that well-worn diner vibe that makes you wonder when the deep clean is scheduled. But honestly, it kind of adds to the charm. It’s not a shiny chain restaurant; it’s the real deal.

All in all, I’ll definitely be back. Good food, great service, and that small-town feel you can't fake. Just maybe next time, I’ll skip the cobbler or bring my...

We stopped at this "hole in the wall" looking place after watching the eclipse, in the hopes we could get some good southern lunch. We could not be more impressed! It is an old facility, so don't expect it to look pretty or new. The food was so good though! I highly recommend the chicken fried steak, and the peach cobbler too. Do not skip the dinner rolls, some of the best I have ever had. The service was friendly, with authentic "Southern Hospitality". Prices were very reasonable too. Summary: Don't let the run-down appearance fool you. If you are ever in Paris, TX, you have to eat here!

Friendly, small town staff, reasonable service for a busy workday lunch. Food portions generous and seasoning was adequate. My salad came from a bag and had lots of bitter white iceberg. Angel biscuits were tasty. Husband enjoyed the roast beef and green beans. Chicken Fried Steak was mostly batter. Canned yams left on plate. Mashed potatoes left on plate. Biggest drawback is ZERO ambiance. We sat next to an ice machine, thin plastic tablecloth, cheap seats, had to walk through poorly appointed kitchen to use the restroom. Locals seem to love the place - every seat taken.
