Reality Tuesday Cafe — Restaurant in Park Hills

I want to start by saying I love this place. The drinks and food, especially the muffins, are amazing. I’m worried about them since Dunkin went in up the street. Perhaps they should simplify their sandwich menu to 2 or 3 items so they can make the sandwiches fast and not have to keep excess ingredients on hand.

I want to start by saying I really love this place — the food and drinks are consistently great, and the muffins are especially amazing. I truly want to see them succeed, especially now that Dunkin’ has opened just up the street.

One suggestion might be to simplify the sandwich menu to just a few core items so they can focus on speed and freshness without having to keep too many ingredients on hand.

I also think the space could benefit from a good deep clean and a bit of attention to detail — the floors, tables, and doors could use some extra care, and there’s still some old tape from past flyers around. A little refresh would really make the shop feel as special as the food and drinks...

The food and drinks are excellent. I especially love their chai tea, which is available hot or cold and with various flavors added. The staff is always friendly and efficient (though the cafe is often busy so don't assume this means you won't have any wait). They sell a small selection of local art as well, which is nice. The reason I am giving four stars instead of five is the space they're in. The floor, while I'm sure they clean it regularly, seems to have a permanent layer of grime on it. It's very dark in there despite a wall and a half of giant windows. And there is always a bunch of smoke in the air, as though something has been burnt in the kitchen. All of this combined makes it feel dirty - which is not to say it actually is dirty, but it definitely feels dirty. So I wouldn't recommend going for the ambiance, but if you're doing carry-out, you won't be...

My husband & I love to try locally owned businesses. This one however, has become a regular staple that we visit roughly 3 times a week on the way to work and whenever we are about to leave town for a while. We love the atmosphere, there is always new art on display and the tables and chairs are a collection of what could be mistaken for yard-sale finds, but everything is cute and clean.

He likes the vanilla latte, I enjoy their steamers and mocha's, and we usually get the bacon, egg & cheddar croissant for breakfast. And don't get me started on their cheesecakes and fresh baked pastries... award winning and so yummy!

So check it out, warm up with a hot drink, sweeten your tooth with something fresh, and bring your laptop to get some work done.
