Pizza Ranch — Restaurant in Park Rapids

It started out when we walked up to the counter, the women had her back to me and yelled out are you guys gonna have the buffet? I said yes, there are 6 of us all together. Do you have Gluten... She interrupted me to say wait till I'm up at the counter.

When we waited for her to stir the gravy, and mashed potatoes and get behind the counter. She said what topings would you like? U said well first I need to know if you have a gluten free pizza and how it's cooked. I have a gluten allergy and was just curious if you could, she intupted and said it's gluten free what toppings do you want? I said well first I need to know how it's cooked, does it have a separate pan or is the crust certified? I don't know. She got irritated and said I'm cooking the pizza, I know it's certified cause it says it on the box! I just asked.

The pizza's on the buffet were all pepperoni of some sort and once we got through with the gluten free issue, I asked will you be putting any new pizza's on? She again got upset with me, raising her voice and said I'm the one here cooking the pizza. I will be putting one on when I get to it!! And wouldn't even come back to the counter for me to pay for anything. It was at least 12 minutes later when more customers came in and when I was helping my 91 year old grandmother through the buffet that she finally came back to the counter and even then was very rude to my mom and stepdad. And this isn't even all of it?!! Just over all a bad very bad...

My wife and I stayed at a resort in the area Father's day weekend 2023. I got to pick where we went to eat on Father's day and I picked my favorite....PIZZA RANCH!!! We walked in and it was a disaster and should've been a sign! We try and give people the benefit of the doubt. It looked like they had been really busy and just got slammed! Everything was a mess and pizza was warm at best. The icing on the cake was the manager and one of the cooks got into not 1 but 2 absolute screaming matches!!! They were swearing, screaming, and making threats to each other. I'm not a nervous person and it was so bad that it was the first time I wished I had my conceal carry on me as this thing was going bad fast and I feared how far it was going to go!! We waited until they calmed down and walked out! We do not complain ever....but I will say this was the hands down the worst and scariest experience we have ever had going out to eat and trying to have a good time.

My wife contacted Pizza Ranch Coporate and all we wanted was our $35 taken off of our card as we live 3 hours away, but instead Pizza Ranch has the manager that was screaming call my wife and say he was sorry! Save your apology and keep our money we will NEVER be back to that location and that manager should've been fired!! I understand you sell franchise's but that is NOT the representation that you want!!

I'm not sure if I was more disappointed in our experience or their lack luster attempt to rectify...

Two in our family eat gluten free, so I called ahead to order their gluten free pizza so it would be ready when our family came to dine in. We were about fifteen minutes away. The person who answered the phone was quite unprofessional, talking to me, a customer, and an employee at the same time. When we arrived he remembered that I called and I paid for the GF pizza and for two buffets. While the two ate their buffet pizza we waited and waited and waited for the GF pizza. First I stood by the counter and waited and wasn’t acknowledged, then I sat down in my sticky seat and thought surely it was almost ready. Then I went to ask again by the counter. Finally a response of “it will be ready soon”. “This is why I called ahead of time!” I answered. He replied with a string of excuses, which included cussing and blaming everyone and everything but himself. No apology, no asking how he could make it right. I don’t think they began preparing the GF pizza until 5-10 minutes AFTER we arrived. Once we finally got it, it was very good (hence the two stars). I would definitely avoid dining in here. Maybe takeout is better, if you give them 3-4 times longer than they tell you. My two kids who ordered the buffet give it 3/5 stars… warmish pizza, cheesy bread not replenished, no ice cream machine. By far not a typical Pizza Ranch experience, but this location is definitely...
