My husband and I did a Google search looking for empanadas while we were in Holland, MI. Caribbean Sunrise came up so we decided to give it a try. We walked in to a warm welcome from the owners Gadiel & AnaSue and walked out with a lot of great food and one of the best restaurant experiences we’ve had in a while. I ordered the pernil (pork) plate with arroz con guandules (rice with pigeon peas) and plátanos maduro (sweet plantains). Everything on my plate was cooked perfectly with flavors even better than I had on the island a few years ago. I was given a side of chimichurri for the pork which wasn’t necessary, but was a great compliment to the already juicy, tender and flavorful meat. To drink I had a tasty cafe con leche. My husband loved his Caribbean hash plate and raved about how good it was all the way home. We took empanadas to go so I’ll have to follow up this review once we’ve tried them. The restaurant capacity is 23 people, intimate and it feels like home. Catering is available if you call the restaurant ahead of time. Overall, we are so happy to have stumbled upon Caribbean Sunset. And we look forward to enjoying their authentic Puerto Rican cuisine...

My wife and I were visiting Michigan a few weeks ago and stumbled across Caribbean Sunrise, and we’re so glad we did! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by both of the owners with big smiles and genuine conversation. Their warmth and hospitality really set the tone for a great experience.

The food was absolutely delicious, with a variety of gluten free options available (a big win for us). They were extremely thoughtful and knowledgeable about food restrictions, making great recommendations that we truly appreciated.

The location is also fantastic, close to the beach, with laid-back island vibes, great music, and a fun, inviting atmosphere. You can tell the owners put their heart into this place.

If you’re anywhere near the area, do yourself a favor and stop by Caribbean Sunrise. Great food, great people, and a great time. Highly...

I had such a great experience at this restaurant! From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel welcomed and taken care of. The customer service was top-notch—friendly, attentive, and professional without being overbearing.

The food was absolutely delicious. Everything we ordered was fresh, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. You can really tell they put effort and care into every dish.

What really stood out to me was the menu. It had such a great variety, with something for everyone—from classic favorites to creative and unique dishes I haven’t seen elsewhere. Whether you’re a picky eater or someone who loves to try new things, you’ll find something you’ll love here.

I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this place to friends and family. It’s the kind of restaurant you look forward to...

A Taste of Puerto Rico in Every Bite! If you’re looking to experience authentic Puerto Rican cuisine, this new restaurant is a must-visit. From the moment you step in, you’re welcomed by the warm, inviting atmosphere that perfectly complements the rich flavors of their dishes. Their coffee is exceptional and pairs wonderfully with their selection of pastries. The pastries themselves are a treat not to be missed—flaky, fresh, and with just the right amount of sweetness. This restaurant is a gem that truly captures the essence of Puerto Rican cuisine. If you haven’t tried it yet, do yourself a favor and visit—this place is sure to become a favorite! We will definitely be back ♥️

Breath of fresh air if you’re looking for different for breakfast (they serve lunch, too). We were staying at the Holland State Park and glad we decided to stop in. Cozy and clean inside with some tables outside, but it was raining. Helpful staff answering questions. Owner stopped by our table and we had a nice chat. I had the Caribbean Hash and my son had the special that was served over some incredible plantains. The white rice was pretty plain with my hash, but they had a very wide selection of hot sauces to dial it up . Hash was tasty and my son loved his meal. Holland is definitely lucky to have a restaurant serving this style of food.
