EDIT: I visited The Reyn today with my partner for breakfast, expecting a nice meal but left feeling disappointed. From the moment we sat down, we felt rushed. We placed our order right away, and my partner specifically asked for her hashbrowns to be very well done. The server seemed fine with the request, so we expected it would be no issue. However, when her food arrived, the hashbrowns were barely cooked. She sent them back, hoping they’d come out right on a second try. It ended up taking a full 10 minutes, and we had to remind them before the dish was finally returned—by which point we were about ready to leave. To add to the frustration, the hashbrowns still came back undercooked. When we went to pay, we mentioned the experience to the manager (bald, wearing a button-down shirt). Rather than being understanding or offering an apology, he just explained “how hashbrowns are cooked” and then brushed us off, asking us to pay without acknowledging our frustration. I don’t expect much, but his response left a sour impression. Two stars only because the food was edible, but I’m not planning on coming back. The service was disappointing from start to finish. ————— We visited The Reyn for breakfast for the first time and we weren’t disappointed. The prices were very reasonable, and the service was attentive and great. While the coffee was mediocre, everything else made up for it. They’re well known for their homemade banana bread, which was delicious and didn’t taste overly sweet. The old-school diner vibes, complete with Snoopy decor, were charming and nostalgic. It's a small place, but there's plenty of parking in the back and on the street. They also have a few outdoor seating spots, but I suggest you try to eat at one of the booths indoors to truly get a feel for the place. Highly recommend!

A small but impressive diner in southern Pasadena. They honestly have the best banana bread that I’ve ever had and would be a reason to visit alone, but honestly all the food is seriously delicious, the portion sizes are large, and the pricing is very fair. I would say that this diner leans more toward a Mexican diner in that they have a lot of Mexican dishes as well as clientele which being from San Diego myself I’m definitely not complaining about. Our server was extremely polite and all of our items arrived fairly quickly after ordering them. They have a large parking lot attached outback with free and easy parking however inside is very small so there’s limited seating. They do have some tables outside, but you may have to wait a bit to sit inside depending on how crowded it is. As mentioned, we started off with the Banana Bread and honestly, it was incredible. My girlfriend does not like banana bread, but loved this one which shows how good it is. For my breakfast I ordered the Ortega Supreme and got a side of hashbrowns with chili cheese on top. The omelette was very good and filled with a lot of chilies which I loved, but I was not a very big fan of the chili. It tasted too cooked, almost as if it had been in the pot too long, giving it an almost burnt flavor. Aside from that though everything else was very good and we already are eager to visit again. I would recommend to anyone who is a fan of diners or is searching for a great breakfast or lunch option in Pasadena.

They have wide selection of breakfast menu. Indoor atmosphere is quaint and decorated with old car license plates. Inside is not spacious enough and its center tables are placed relatively too close. I ordered their famous RCS #2 (2 pancakes, 2 eggs, maple syrup and 2 sausage links). Sausage and eggs taste good. However, pancakes' texture were a bit dry and has a subpar/banal taste. Coffee was good! Prices are inexpensive and fair. Service was good and moderately fast. Staff were competent and professional. Parking lot available. Overall, my breakfast experience was just ok but not great.

Best place in Pasadena for Breakfast - Original post over 9 months ago 🫠 Fast forward to July 2023 I have gone to The Reyn several times. It use to be one of my breakfast locations but this morning was so disappointing and I'll never go back. Myself and a business colleague decided to dine at The Reyn for breakfast. The staff was nasty upon arrival. I wanted to order a cup of coffee while I wait for my other party and was declined. We were seated, placed our order, our food was brought out quick, which is standard. We had been there a good 45 minutes, I'm still eating and my colleague had ordered a beverage. Less than 5 minutes later a server comes over and tells us we need to wrap it up and leave. I have never been to a restaurant and been asked to wrap it up and leave because there are other people outside. I asked to speak to the manager and he comes over, I explain our experience in a calm manner he NEVER apologizes makes excuses talking about when they are busy they give patrons an hour to dine. I could not believe my eyes, I dismissed him as he was very flippant and could care less about our concerns as I have been a paying customer of this establishment for years and have been there when they have super busy and I've never seen them ask anyone who is still actively eating to wrap it up. AND ON TOP OF THAT THEY WERE NOT BUSY. When we left, there was an empty table outside and a table inside where they could have been seated. I said all this to say I'll never go back and spend a dime! And I'll be sure to let everyone know how raggedy and egregious we were treated and recommend another...
