Tip: If it's your first time, get the chicken and beef lule combination plate. You'll kill two birds with one stone and you won't feel bad after you've done it! :-P
Haven't spent time with Jennifer T. for little over two weeks, so we decided to embark on a eating adventure to Pasadena for some mediterranean food and get caught up with our busy lives.
Ambiance: Very small, cozy and intimate place.
Service: Loved the service. Staffer were very efficient, friendly, and checked up on us. Knowing that it was our first time, she hooked us with extra garlic sauce and the food came out fast! :)
Food: I got the Chicken and Beef Lule Combination. The combination usually comes with rice, onions, and a side salad, but you can replace one or both of them with other appetizers (Hummus, Yogurt Cucumber, Yogurt Spinach, Tabbouleh, Fresh Garlic Bread, Shirazi Salad, Basmati Rice, French Fries, Moutabbal, Side Garden Salad, Grilled Tomato and Pepper, or Falafel). I replaced the salad with hummus. I haven't had hummus for a long time.... so I was very content after eating it. The meat was very flavorful with every bite, but the beef lule was a bit dry for me. Other than that everything...
Read moreVery bad business practice. After reading the reviews for this place, me and my wife decided to give it a try, unfortunately, we left hungry. At 8:00 pm, we arrived at the cafe, excited to try it out. After looking at the menu we placed our order, and I was about to pay when the cashier asked, "is this order to go." I said, "no, we will be dinning in." Then he said, "we don't take orders for dinning in, we are closing soon." Confused with his response, I look at the business hours, and I said, "that's 1 hour away, and we will be finish eating way before you close." Than he said, "we start our closing duties 1 hour before. You can take your food, and eat it elsewhere." At that time, I politely decline the offer, left the cafe, and went down the street to a different restaurant to eat........ Message to the owner: I used to be a business owner myself, and I understand the desire to want to close up on a time. However, I wouldn't turn customers away especially one hour away from closing. Remember, you need your customer more than...

I’m usually a tough critic when it comes to food, and I rarely write reviews but Abu Kabab absolutely deserves the spotlight.
We had just finished an intense water polo session and stumbled upon this place by chance. We sat on Lake Ave and just chilled then the food came in 10 mins. From the first bite, I was floored. The food here is exceptional, incredibly fresh, generously portioned, and bursting with flavor! The meats were juicy and perfectly seasoned, rice perfect, the hummus was rich and velvety, and every bite felt like a trip to the Mediterranean.
To top it off, the owner, Serg, made the experience even more memorable with his warm, genuine hospitality. He even threw in some crispy fries for free! The prices are more than reasonable for the quality you get. - Stop eating unhealthy, try this place out.
