Walt & Marie's Country Market & Cafe — Restaurant in Paw Paw Township

I feel lucky to live near this place. It's like a mom & pop Cracker Barrel, only WAY cooler, and with excellent pizza. They have an amazing array of local and organic foods and gifts in their store. The restaurant has all kinds of great, home cooked food. And the owners are super nice. I bought some crystallized ginger, and Ken GAVE me a ginger soda he thought I'd like. (It's paying off for him, too, because now I buy one every visit. LOL) We live in the boonies, and this place is 5 miles closer to us than the next nearest pizza joint, so I ordered pizza to see whether it was tolerable or if we'd have to keep driving to PawPaw for pizza. Do NOT go to this market, especially if you think you will need to use the bathroom. They have signs all over stating support for the disabled, but don't even let customers use the bathroom. I was told to either go across the street to the flea market and find an outhouse or do what the old guy working the the counter does, and hold it for four hours. Edit to add: my issues were not with the price as much as with the lack of information on the menu. I should know before hand if my $12 dish is turning into a $27 dish prior to me ordering it so I can decide if that's what I want to order.

The service was amazing but when it came time to pay I was dumbfounded. It was $45 for a chicken sandwich and an omelet with a side of pancakes. We added bacon and sausage gravy with the omelet and with the pancakes the cost for those additions was 14.50 alone.
