The Shed — Restaurant in Pawnee

This was my first visit to The Shed after hearing some great things, so a buddy and I decided to check it out for lunch. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the hype.

I ordered the horseshoe, and it was disappointing from the start. The cheese sauce was bland — not much flavor and nothing that stood out. The burger on the horseshoe was so overcooked it was actually black and crispy. I took one bite and had to send it back. I didn’t feel confident trying it again, so I switched to the walleye, which was their special that day.

Sadly, the fish was also overcooked dry and tough. I managed to eat about a third of it. The homestyle fries were soggy, and I found myself wishing I had stuck with the crinkle fries that came on the horseshoe originally. My friend ordered the bluegill, and his was overcooked as well.

We spent around $60 for lunch between the two of us, and honestly, we won’t be back for food. However, I will say the atmosphere is fantastic. They have a great outdoor area for live bands, and the whole place has a really fun, rustic vibe. I typically dont like going into bars or bar & grills for that matter. Saw this place on TikTok & told the wife we gotta try it. Will certainly be back, amazing atmosphere, amazing food, easily the best burger I've had in a long time. If youre in the area, stop in & give it a go!
