I thought the food was aweful... I ordered the beef nachos and 1 beef, hard shell taco. The nachos was so runny and full of grease, I couldn't eat them. They did not charge me, which was great! The taco was also greasy, I had to squish it to drain out the grease to eat it. Not enough lettuce on it. The ground beef tasted like chilli powder. The chips served with salsa was thick and hard. Couldn't determine if the were stail or just to thick. Salsa was warm and had too much cilantro. I Love Mexican Food and eat it often. However this was just no good. My husband had the beef taco salad, it was tiny and he couldn't eat the shell because it was soaked with grease. I don't know why but Mexican restaurants in the north are just no good at all. Most of them put chilli powder in their food. Hint; if you taste chilli powder in the salsa, food will taste the same. I don't normally give bad reviews on anyone, but I was so disappointed. People need to head south for REAL AUTHINTIC MEXICAN FOOD....... I would've been better off making my own mexican food at home. I'll know better next time. Sorry,...

Upon entering this place, the aroma and decor are evident. The combination of smells immediately makes your mouth water. There is artwork everywhere. There are very bright colors and distinctively decorated with their culture in mind. We were a party of six with a service dog and they found us a seat that suited our needs right away. The server immediately took our drink order and gave us chips and salsa. I loved their salsa, by the way. When the food arrived, I was pleasantly surprised at the large servings as well. I ordered the grilled shrimp, and it was spiced just right and done to perfection. The side dishes of rice and beans were also seasoned well. A nice blend of heat and flavor. The others in my party were very happy with their meals as well. We left there feeling full. I will definitely come back here when I'm in the area again. This place is great! If you are in the area and in the mood for GREAT Mexican food, do your tastebuds a favor and stop in. You will be pleasantly surprised, I...

We wanted a different Mexican restaurant, my friends and I ate there the other night. The cheese sauce tasted like coffee beans, I asked for a different one and the server looked at me like what if the next one taste bad?! Well I’m obviously not paying for it! Older lady came to my table and said I tried it, it doesn’t taste bad. The food wasn’t all that great, they charged for more than two baskets of chips and salsa, they charged for extra tortilla shells. The lady had a whole attitude for no reason. THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT!!! I will not be going back to this restaurant, poor food service, and food wasn’t that great! Agave in rantoul is definitely the spot for good authentic Mexican cuisine! They don’t charge for everything, they are willing to fix it and make sure the...

The decor highlights Mexican culture and is so tastefully done. I added a picture of a fun table to the review. I picked up tacos at 3 pm during the week and there were other diners. I consider that an endorsement. I took my food carry-out. It could have been a little warmer. I only traveled ten minutes and it was down to luke warm. Other than that, my tacos were perfect! Made as requested. I'm pretty fussy about salt and these were spot on for the right balance since i didn't taste salt, just flavor. The service was quick and pleasant. The price was reasonable. Highly recommend!!

The service at this place was top notch. It seemed like everyone pitched in to help. The food was good too. Yeah it's only 4 starred, but to get 5 you need tobve great. The poblano pepper coated with egg was outstanding though. The margs were good and had a little kick to them. They are pre-made but that's OK as long as the flavor works. Will be there next week to try some more. Been here a couple times now. Place is great and well run.

For a small town Mexican restaurant, this has to be the best yet. The staff is wonderful, the food is made fresh and is brought out very quickly. If you ever drive through Paxton, IL or drive past it on highway 57, you have to stop here and try the food. You will not be disappointed!
