Cavern Sports Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Pembroke

We live nearly an hour away from this establishment, but have been here twice this year. Both of these times were for our son's soccer tournament nearby. Plenty of on site parking and they can probably squeeze in a hundred people into the place. Warm atmosphere with a clean dining/bar area and very clean restrooms. Good selection of crafted beers on tap at decent prices. Menu consisted mostly of pub food, but a step up. Both times I've been here, I chose the breakfast burger. That's a burger with a fried egg, bacon, and shredded hash. Both times the burgers were well made, but the hash was nearly non-existent. Not a deal breaker, since it tasted great once I added ketchup and their After Burn hot sauce. Great hot sauce btw! At 10 bucks, this was their most expensive burger, which came with a side of starch, so certainly not too hard on the wallet. Positive feedbacks from every one from the soccer team as well. If it was closer to me, this would be my ideal place to stop by, with some company, after work...

Four of us came for the first time for trivia this last Wednesday. I like the sports bar, casual vibe of the restaurant. It’s seat yourself, which always gives me a lot of anxiety, but luckily we found a table. They were really busy, so it took the server a bit to come around. First she just dropped menus, then she came around again and took drink orders. We all stuck with beer, but they have mixed drinks, cocktails, and wine. When it was time for food, I ordered the chicken tender basket with fries. It was good (you can’t really mess up fried chicken) my only critiques are that the honey mustard was really thin, almost watered down, and the strips were very greasy. Other food included salads and a burger which everyone enjoyed. Service was slow, and food took a bit, but I think it’s because they were busy.

It’s a place to get a good casual meal. As long as your expectations are tempered, you’ll have a good time.

The service was awful my husband and I sat at the bar to have lunch. We order 2 drinks and our meal, he got a pizza and I got a burger and fries. We waited a good 45 minutes for our food and the place was not full by any means. My husband finished his beer and they never came over to see if he wanted another one? Now for the food, I asked for a medium burger but when I got it it was well done, the bun was toasted but now hard and cold and the fries were cold I did get some from the bottom that were a bit warm and my husband's pizza was piping hot. So I figure they made my burger and it sat there until his pizza was done. After we ate we sat there for another half hour until the bar tender came over we said we would have our check and a box for the pizza, then she left and didn't come back she was busy talking to the regulars.
