Server was awkward, my parents had drinks and I did not before we sat down... but the server assumed I was not having a drink for whatever reason, gave out napkins to my parents, then walked around me to the end of the table to do something with zero intention of giving me a napkin for my drink while I just looked at her like, huh? She noticed and said, "oh, are you having a drink?". What kind of waitress assumes someone is not having a drink??? After that she never made eye contact with me again for the rest of the night. I was clearly not the one paying for the meal so I thought that was a pretty awful behavior.
Margaritas were some of the weakest I've had but one of the cheapest for $15 with patron each. Still would have rather paid a little more to get a little more patron. Deviled eggs we got were made so quickly there was egg yolk from the eggs they carved out all over the dish. Red flag right off the bat... Eggs were small and not a lot of topping. Topping was bland and overly spicy with some crab/seafood flavor and liquidy... probably some of the worst deviled eggs I've ever had. $13 for 4-5 of them and you could easily eat each one in one bite. Very overpriced and I don't get why you would ever make deviled eggs out of small eggs. Old bay chicken wings were really good.
Smashburger wasn't really smashed, one of the patties was more like half of a pattie. Meat was good. The toppings on it were so bland, it felt like they weren't even there and provided almost no flavor. It was like a five guys burger with even less flavor. It was an odd that it managed to be so flavorless. The way it came out so sloppy, it looked rushed and made without care.
My dads salmon tasted kind of fishy although he thought it was good. Dessert was small, thin slices of cake I hope my dad did not pay too much for them.
Double chocolate cake was good, and the blueberry cobbler cheesecake was bland and a think slice. Tasted like flavorless cream cheese with the only thing providing any decent flavor being the blueberry syrup they dizzled around it.
All in all I got the vibe they were overcharging and the...
Read moreWhere to start. First impressions are; what a makeover they did to Charlie’s the old seafood joint. You’d never know you were i. the same place. It’s done over beautifully but nothing different than a lot of todays restaurants. Gray wood floors, dark motif’s, a long bar, no absorbing details (think blinds, curtains, etc.) so noise level is present. We went on a Sunday around 6:30 and were promptly seated. Place was about 1/3 full. Service was prompt and pleasant but there were a few mistakes. Drinks were ordered with Tito’s & lemon, we were served Absolut & lime. The Mrs had clam chowder and said it was different but pretty good. She had salmon for her entree and enjoyed it. I like a good pork chop from time to time when dining out so i was pleased to see it in the menu. It came with rice/potato, a chutney and brussel sprouts. Not being a fan of sprouts i asked if i could substitute and was told yes. I like when a restaurant accommodates your preferences. My pork chop was prepared as requested (medium) and very tasty. The chutney not so much. It was extremely spicy/hot. Not sure but i think it was loaded with pepper. I’m the wimp in the family when it comes to hot/spicy food. Sometimes no one else tasted it but me. But this was so hot i asked the Mrs to taste it and she agreed, it was extremely spicy/hot. So it was pushed aside and i enjoyed the rest of my meal. Overall I’d come again but won’t be rushing...
Read moreNice place, a little loud, table we were at had cold air blowing on it. Did not see a vent near us, not sure where that was coming from. Waitress was very nice, except she forgot my water, had to ask for a second time. She was in training so i will give her that. Drink I ordered was very sweet, not their fault just to sweet for me, they actually offered to only charge us half price for it, but my hubby was drinking it so we declined the offer. Ordered brussel sprouts and deviled eggs stuffed with crabmeat for appetizers. The brussel sprouts were good as long as you ate around the heavy amount of white aioli sauce. Deviled eggs where okay but not your typical deviled eggs. I ordered the blacksmith salad with grilled chicken , came with a champagne vinaigrette but it was soaked, should have asked for it on the side since i am not a huge fan of a lot of dressing, the dressing had a overwhelming taste of basil, really could not eat it, the bacon bits where fatty pieces of bacon, one piece did not looked cooked. I settled for just eating the grillled chicken which was good. On the other hand my hubbys ceasar salad did not have enough dressing, they did happily give him more, he added shrimp to his salad which he said was over seasoned. Guess the chef just has a heavy hand when it comes to seasoning. There was also a lot of brown lettuce stalk in it. Don’t think we...
