Zeno's Italian Grill — Restaurant in Pembroke

I had a parallel universe experience today at Zeno's in Pembroke. I told the young lady I wanted the cheesesteak sandwich (on the menu at $7.99), and asked her what comes on it. She said, "steak and cheese." I said "can you put some onions and mayo on it," and she said "Yes." Then she said "do you want the fries" (verbatum), and I said "does it come with fries(verbatum)?" She said "yes, and a drink." I didn't really want the fries, and I already had a glass of water that I was happy with, but I said "ok, I'll take the fries and a Coke." I ate about 4 of the fries, drank half of the Coke, and later she brought me a bill for a "cheesesteak combo" (listed @11.99). I said "may I see that menu again?" She brought one. I pointed to the "cheesesteak sandwich" (on the menu at $7.99) and said "that was what I ordered. You never mentioned anything about a combo, and you gave me the distinct impression that the fries and drink came with it." She was briefly nice about it, and said "I'll get him to change it." A few minutes later, a large man with an indeterminate accent came to the table and said (more or less) "I'll take off the fries, but it will still be the same price." The resulting modified bill charged me 50 cents for the onion (not charged on the original bill) and $2.45 for the drink, which inexplicably added up to $11.99. I was very happy with the service at first.The reason i'm giving them a rating of one star is because I cannot give them negative stars for service. I ordered a gallon of sweet tea because they didn't have a gallon they gave me 2 half gallons. They never said that the lids were not on secure. So when I hit a bump, Both things fell over. Both lids came off easily. I lost more than half a gallon of sweet tea. I get the food home. The French fries were not fully cooked. I called in regards to the sweet tea, and recommended that maybe they could let customers know that the lids do not fit the containers securely to avoid this in the future.. The service was extremely slow. The food was decent but it took over an hour for pizza, wings and some pasta. When the spaghetti came, the meatballs were missing. We asked for them twice and they finally came. When we asked for a discount, they would only discount one check, we had two separate. And the one they wouldn’t discount was the one with the missing meatballs. Then the other check didn’t have the discount promised and the waitress argued with me that it was on there when I can do simple math. When we finally did get a discount, it was their military discount that we should have gotten anyway. Don’t go to Pembroke often, but if We ever do again, we will NOT be eating here!...
