Denny's — Restaurant in Pendleton

2 days have passed and still feel the same as I did that day... absolutely 1 of the worst experiences ever. Walked in and 3 people in front of us (it's around 11am on a Sunday). No big deal but then we realize that the place has tons of tables open. Now we see a greeter is running the cashier as well. So if she's cashing it checks, that leaves us and the others standing there waiting. Finally seat us after about 15 min, and told our waitress will be with us shortly. She's there within about 10 min, we place orders and drinks. I noticed she has gone to 2 other tables as well as ours to get there orders before entering ours. Ok busy and she's trying to get all in at once. We sit for around 20 min when my impatient FIL signals her, we are told the orders will be out soon. So orders come out except it's only 3 of our 7 meals. They said they are coming right back with the rest. They do and now only bring 1 and a partial of 1. Still missing 2. We finally get her attention and she will go check for us...wtf! And we ask about the missing portion as well. I can only assume the manager comes over and tries to explain they are really busy and apologizes. 1 of the meals missing has arrived (which was wrong but we dealt with it), along with the bacon for the partial meal. But still missing 1 more meal, when we are again apologized too and told it will be taken off our check. Oh thanks. Mind you in this time, the first 3 meals have been eaten, 2 were almost done and 1 just got his and we still haven't gotten the last 1. It finally arrives but without fries. She about fries and they again apologized and bring out a small plate of fries. We counted them because of how small the portion was...it was 10 fries! It was almost like they scrambled them from another plate. We asked for a side of mayo for this which didn't arrive either. Luckily it did in 1 of our ither orders so we had some extra. Now 5 of the 7 of us are done, 2 still eating. Waitress asks if we want our check. Yes we are done here. She walks away, in that time a bus boy comes to our table holding that portable dish bin and is grabbing plates, including trying to grab the plates of 1 of the people still eating. After she tells him 3 times she is still eating that he gives up and goes to another table. Everyone is finally finished and we leave 1hr 30 min later!...

Two other people and I came to Denny’s to grab a what we wanted to be quick lunch..we were seated quickly by a lady that seemed to have a very negative demeanor, which of course had to turn out to be my server..after we were seated she took our drink order and didn’t come back with our two waters and sweet tea for a solid 12 minutes, not a huge deal as her attitude still was with each of us. I ordered the chicken strips, came with 4 chicken strips instead of 5 and she realized that and said she’d return with another and there was no celery..for 8.00 for chicken strips that don’t even come with a side this is uncalled for. So not only did she not return with no chicken strip the whole meal, we also didn’t have straws until the very end and had to ask for silverware. Our server Betty if I’m not mistaking needs to be spoke with immediately about her behavior because she was also yelling at one of the cooks about my chicken strip loudly enough in the kitchen opening that every table in there was starring at her. We paid for our food and left without saying anymore, but most definitely we’re done giving Denny’s anymore chances..We travel with freight and Pilot’s and Flying J’s are where we stay so it’s convenient..but not worth that trouble. I highly do not recommend coming here and if you get Betty as your server it’s not just you she’s rude to, she obviously needs to work on her customer...

Nasty experience. There were flies all around when our food came. Just swarming us. We couldn't even eat our food. What's worse when the waitress asked how we were I told her about the flies AND the over cooked fish. She just goes "oh I'm sorry" and walks away. I mean she said it like she wasn't looking for an honest answer nor did she care. We've had meals comped before at other restaurants when it wasn't even a big deal to us but because we weren't 100% satisfied. Not this place. They didn't offer to fix anything or discount our meal. So the cook doesn't know how to cook fish. The waitresses were rude. The flies were all over us AND get this- they only had 2 customers in the whole restaurant and our food took at least 35 minutes to come out. Probably because they were busy over cooking it. Oh yea and the whole smoking thing- that's disgusting too. No matter if that smoker is across the room or not--- smoke travels. We felt like we needed a shower after this place. Oh yea. I keep forgetting because there were so many things wrong. Some off duty waitress was there with her kid who was just screaming up a storm and the mom said not 1 word to discipline her kid. What is up with this place!? Never again. Next time we will...
