Plum Creek Farm Market & Creamery — Restaurant in Penn Township

Went here yesterday and it’s still as good as I remember it. I ordered a root beer float and within about five minutes it was ready. They filled it up to the top with a heap of soft serve vanilla ice cream and the reading draft root beer 😋. There are so many items to choose from on the ice cream menu that left me torn between several different choices. Staff is friendly, I asked for a straw to go along with the float and the waitress obliged happily. The only negative part of the experience is that sometimes the line can stretch fairly long- but that’s because everybody knows how good the ice cream is. After ice cream, I went to the market on the side of the building. They had samples of oatmeal raisin cookies, and after trying one, I couldn’t leave without a whole cookie. The market is a decent size and I was surprised by the wall of jams, jellies, applesauces, and other canned goods. Admittedly, I haven’t gotten dinner or other snacks yet, but I’ve heard great things about that as well. Overall a pleasant experience.

UPDATE: I’ve tried the restaurant since then and it’s as good as the ice cream. I ordered a chicken sandwich with fries and a drink- with some hesitancy, since the sandwich itself was $11. But after getting the food I could easily see why. The chicken sandwich was probably the largest one I’d ever eaten, with cheese, pickles, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, and a tasty yellowish sauce. The chicken was fresh and crispy as well. It was messy for sure, but very good. The fries were golden brown and crispy, and tasted even better with the sauce from the sandwich. I would definitely come back...

Okay now I have a rant... Randy and I went to Plum Creek Creamery tonight.... Hoping to have a fun kind of dinner instead it was a horrible infectious nightmare. I know some of you don't believe in masks and I know some of you don't believe in this covid 19 I however work in the health field I have seen covid and it's not pretty. We walked into this creamery and there were no masks being enforced, no social distancing, no seats blocked off. You could sit wherever you wanted to sit stand as close to each other as you wanted. I felt as though we were a bunch of sardines and a can. Please please stay away from this place if you care about your health.... we walked out I said something to the cashier, I said it was wrong and I told her that apparently the owner does not care about his employees or his patrons. Please if you care about your health stay far away from this place. He does not deserve your money. This isn't posted to become a debate we all know some people do not believe in masks and that's fine, that's your choice but as a business owner to ask people to come and sit in your restaurant and enjoy your food when there's people with no masks on coughing and sneezing around your patrons during a pandemic is careless and the owner should be...
