I have been following Mama's on Facebook for awhile and been meaning to get over there to try them out. Well today, I saw Chef Aaron McCargo was over there doing his #realtalkfoodtalk so I decided it was time to stop by and given them a try! I purchased the Pop Pop Supreme flat bread (on special today for $8, a great deal), 6 spicy meatballs in gravy, and tiramisu. The flat bread is probably about 14 inches if I had to guess. It had very bold flavors and was delicious! I am a huge fan of sharp provolone, and it served as a perfect compliment. The flatbread by itself can be a meal! I boiled up my own spaghetti and poured the gravy and balls over it. These balls were delicious! I have a high tolerance to heat so some people may find these meatballs possibly too spicy. I could really taste the spicy Italian sausage in them and was extremely pleased with the heat profile and the overall texture. The gravy was flavorful as well. I am not a huge fan of chunky sauce but I enjoyed the bits of tomato and garlic and basil in this one. To round out the meal, we polished off some delicious tiramisu. I have had quite a few slices of tiramisu in my life, but this one was special. It wasnt overly sweet, it was perfectly spongy and had a perfect balance of creaminess. It was a real treat to end this meal. Overall, I highly recommend stopping by. I can't wait to try all the other types of meatballs they offer. The sandwiches also look delicious. This is a great addition to the area!
Updated 5/2024 Oh @mamas.meatballs how I've been a fan of yours since day 1. It's probably one of my top spots I recommend people to. I had a work opportunity to help show off one of my favorite spots, and I was more than excited to jump on this! If anyone is reading this and doesn't know about Mama's Meatballs in Pennsauken, what are you waiting for? The pizza, cheesesteaks, meatballs, salads, garlic knots, arancini balls, everything is made in house with extra love, and you can taste it in every single bite. Shout out to Joe and Katherine, who have done so much and have further elevated the business since taking it over. They are a couple of the best owners that you simply can't help but root for. Bigger things are coming for Mama's Meatballs once they open up their dining area. Can't wait to dine in and eat a pizza with hopefully a bottle of wine (to be determined if byob will be allowed).
It was me and 2 of my co-workers. Hence, the sandwiches cut up into 3rds so we could all share. Pictured is a cheesesteak philly willy style, a roast pork sandwich philly willy style (long hots on the side), regular meatball parm, slice of some boardwalk style pizza, and arancini balls. Everything...
Read moreFirst let me say the food is good the phone experience is very unprofessional even for a pizza place as far as delivery is concerned don’t do it. !!!!! They do not deliver from the store. They have a third-party deliver. I ordered a pizza got the notification it would be delivered between a certain time which was a 20 minute window. I waited , and on the app It was still showing that my order had not been picked up after 10 minutes of the original promised delivery time , after speaking to the girl on the phone was told my pizza had been sitting on top of the oven for over 20 minutes while the driver was waiting for another order to be completed so he could make two deliveries at the same time. I’m sorry, but I did not ask for a pizza that had been sitting on the oven for over 20 minutes. I ordered a fresh pizza.I asked to speak to a manager there was no such thing as a manager there’s an owner who she had no idea when he would be back in the building to speak to. I canceled the order 30 minutes later my doorbell rings with a cold Pizza left at my door, which ended up in the trashcan.!! It’s a shame because the food is very good but the service and the delivery service is the worst I have ever experienced. I would not recommend this pizza shop and I would never go back. In the future, it would be best if if you hire employees that know how to speak to customers on the phone maybe be a little professional with saying I’m sorry this is happening or let me give you a discount on another pizza. Anything would have been appropriate, but to have someone’s employee Who obviously has no clue of customer service and to not have someone in the store to address such issues specially on a weekend night when most issues arise. Maybe next time a customer has a problem which I’m sure happens frequently. It would be best to take their name and number and the owner follow up with that. Customer would also be Appropriated instead of...
Read moreWhat a hidden gem!! Went up looking to try what my buddy told me about, a cheese steak, I don't eat beef so I asked for a chicken cheese steak...the fella working the counter offered "we don't make chicken cheese steaks"...I ask, well how about wings....his response.."NOPE..only thing we make chicken is chicken cutlet". After hearing what the Philly Willy packs on the wife gave me a headnod to order it, as instructed I did, not only that but a grandma's pie as well. Patiently I wait and mistimed the ending of the pizza coming out the over and was talking in the car in the parking lot, I scurried out my car when I see the guy working the counter bringing my food to the door/parking lot. I thanked him and went on my way. 35 mins later I get back home, my wife and I bite into the pizza and can't believe how flavorful it was, the chicken cutlet the same. Pizza was done to perfection and the crust was just delicious as the fresh ingredients ontop of it. 2 things I learned from this visit. This place is small, has a small menu, but they ARE REALLY GOOD AT WHAT THEY DO, the food(that I had) was fabulous. As well as the guy working the counter either wanted me out of the parking lot....or he was very kind for his efforts to get me my food. For that...ontop of the worthiness of a return purely because the food was good they've got return customers in us for sure!! I've been spreading the word to my friends and family about this place ever since. Keep up the great work. I enjoyed writing this story...because this place really needs to be in the paper, lol. Did I mention....they make MEATBALLS....oh yeah...the thing they INCLUDE 1ST ON THE NAME, I didn't even try them, so I can only imagine how delicious they...
