Update:The cake was so cool my daughter didn't want to cut it. Finally today she broke down and sliced the cake. Let me say that chocolate cake was amazing. Rarely can you find a cake pleasing to both your eyes and pallet but Moon Child Sweets hit the ball out of the park! The cake was moist, fresh, and was obviously baked by someone who knew what they were doing. It was obviously not one of those old cakes that bakers pull out of the freezer and you can tell. Thank you again for hitting all the marks. You're definitely my new baker.

I found Moon Child Sweets via an online search engine for a bakery close to my vicinity. I wanted a Grinch cake for my adult daughter's birthday and I wasn't truly certain what I wanted to look like. I sent the baker several pictures I found online and we landed on 1. I'm always skeptical when using new vendors so I was a bit nervous. I arrived a little earlier than our agreed time ( I despise tardiness), my cake was ready to go. The baker was extremely nice but the hit was the cake when I saw it. I was very happy to see how beautiful and professional the cake was. She took the time to explain everything about the cake and what the edible decorations were. I would certainly use her again and recommend her. Unfortunately I can't rate taste yet because the cake is so point on visually that no one wanted to cut it, lol. Firstly let me say, I was really hoping this would have been a five star review since I have been on the hunt for a good strawberry short cake, however I have to say my experience was not. Everything went well until the birthday girl cut open her cake and in the middle of eating found a piece of long straight hair, we know it wasn’t ours since both our hairs is natural and of a curly texture. We did reach out to the owner and her response was none of her other customers have reported to have found hair in their cake, which I think was besides the point. It’s almost like she think we were lying, which left a bad taste in my mouth. I understand that you keep your hair was tied up, but please keep in mind your bakery is in your house and that hair could have came from anywhere in your house. Also, I mentioned your cake was tasty because my girlfriend liked the pudding, however the cake itself was falling apart when it was cut. I asked for a chocolate cake. Nothing but chocolate, no other flavors. Beyond that and a number of servings I bid her do as she pleases as one should when commissioning artists of any merit. She did NOT disappoint. The Italian butter cream icing was amazingly chocolatey without being overly sweet. And the texture and body of the icing was firm and smooth and melted on the tongue perfectly. The cake was likewise delicious and its texture was perfect, not to too dense or too fluffy. The layer icing was a lighter chocolate that added dimension. She decorated it with custom gold dusted chocolate forms that were equally delectable and provided a lovely snap to finish off this insanely decadent and satisfying luxury cake.
