Very poor accommodations. There were 12 in our party. We were seated at a table that accommodated 8. We asked for a second 4 seat table that was vacant next to us. Our hostess, Jennifer said no, and mentioned that there were people waiting for an hour. I then said that I wanted to place my name on the wait list. She refused and said no. The table remained vacant as well as many other tables in our section. At this point, there were 4 extra people in our party just standing around us as we were seated. We ordered food and they were eating standing up while there were multiple vacant tables surrounding us. My husband then asked about the other vacant tables around and she placed him on the wait list. This was just after she declined my request for the wait list. Within 8 minutes of being on the waitlist, my husband received a text that the table was ready. When he approached Jennifer about the table, she said that it would be on the other side of the restaurant and not near our party of 8 who were already seated and eating. We were supposed to all be together. This hostess Jennifer was completely inflexible and unprofessional. When I began to complain, she told me to leave and that “this is my home”. All tables sat empty the entire time we were here while we squeezed 9 adults at a table for 6. Next, my adult children all ordered a beer, but one was asked for an id for the identical twin of the son she just served? To rent equipment you leave your id at the ski shop, to get it back you have to turn in your equipment. we weren’t finished skiing for the day! The logic and so called control of people did not make sense and was quite rude, especially with the amount of business we have done as quests in the community. Most of the food was good, don’t order the chicken fingers and the chili is really spicy. Our waiter the other day, Ross, was delightful. Can’t say we enjoyed this...
Read moreThe Summit is a Bar/Restaurant/Day Room that serves the community of Masthope Mountain in Lackawaxen and Ski Big Bear ski resort. It is on top of the 'mountain' right near the lifts. The bar has TVs with usually sports. The ski area closed March 31st. The restaurant has great food though it is not inexpensive. The service is good and the people are very friendly. There is a large community of mostly 'second homes', vacation homes, surrounding the mountain. There is a lake within the community and the Delaware River passes within a quarter mile of this community's boundaries. There is good fishing all around the area and numerous summer activities. The Summit is behind but part of the 'Lodge's' day room which is large with high ceilings and has bingo on Saturday...
