We've never been in that area before so I looked up what was around for a quick bite to eat. My husband was unsure of what he wanted so I decided on this place since they have a wide variety of foods to choose from. We didn't realize that it was counter service instead of table service but that didn't matter to us at all. They also have a drive thru, which I thought was kind of cool. I decided I wanted dinner and got the ribeye and shrimp meal. The dinners come with choice of soup, a salad, and a roll. You also get to choose from fries, baked potato, or mashed potatoes. The ribeye was really juicy and tender. I definitely wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was!!! For the price of my meal, I was expecting small portions. I was definitely wrong about that!!! My meal was around $11 for all of that! 😮😮 My husband ended up getting the bacon avocado burger and he made it a combo, for like $3 extra, to get a drink and fries. The burger was really good and they definitely didn't skimp on the avocado. It took us a little while to order at the counter since we've never been there before. The woman behind the counter was super helpful and and very nice. She even came by to see how everything was, which she didn't have to do! I wish this place was closer to where we live since San Clemente doesn't have many diner style restaurants. If we are ever out that way again, we will definitely have to stop there. Our whole bill was a little over $21 and we ended up taking 3 large containers of food home because we didn't know it was going to be that much food!! Going to have leftovers for a...
Read moreHarry's Cafe is a restaurant I've been going to since I was a little kid and I've been coming to it for as long as I can remember. The original one which is in Orange County, California was my first one. Now that there's a new one in Riverside that I've been to the owner George still remembers me to this day which is amazing. And he still runs and operates his store. I usually order the chili size combo which is amazing and huge for $10 and definitely much more than you get at a fast food restaurant. Although I do warn you if you do decide to get this platter I would suggest bringing some nose plugs 4 the aftermath.
Update 20 Jul, 2018 Came in today and told my old family friend of nearly 20 years, George, had passed away in a car accident a week ago. With him gone the place is definely different. Suddenly I'm charged for things I was never charged for in the past. Just a week and even people who recognized me treated me like a complete stranger. He even lived around the corner from me here in Riverside and I only found out a couple days before he passed. George you will be missed my friend. God bless you, brother. May I see...
Read moreOverall, no complaints about the food, it's great. However, I do have a problem with the owner (bald guy in the kitchen, he's the loudest one talking) making loud, rude comments about my pick up orders. This has already happened twice and I've even addressed it with him but he continues to do it. The first time, I heard him and addressed it with him, he denied it. The second time, today, my daughter heard him complaining about how every week we order the same thing. My question is, what does he care? He's not giving us free food. I am a paying customer that spends quite a bit of money eating there and I do believe we have the right to order whatever we want, whenever we want. We are never rude to anyone when we go eat or order from there and, therefore, I expect to be treated with respect and courtesy especially from the owner.
If you ever go eat there, then try to listen to what he is saying in the kitchen because he talks so loud, you can hear...
