Two Niner Diner — Restaurant in Petaluma

I used to frequent this diner when I lived in Petaluma. It’s been a few years now since I was last there. I went with my nieces and noticed the staff was completely different. They seemed pretty inexperienced. I was pretty let down in knowing this place had taken a turn for the worst. My niece’s hot chocolate was watered down as was my coffee. There was a hair in my food. They ordered the wrong drink for my son. The worst part was how they treated us when we were done. I could tell other people were waiting to be seated and the staff kept hovering over us in anticipation for us to leave. One of the bus boys had all the new plates and silverware in his hands and he was waiting a few feet away. Pretty unprofessional...

This place really is a gem for lunch or breakfast. It's a nice little diner on the airport with porch setting so you can watch the general aviation traffic take off and land.

Went there after a friend at work recommended the fish and chips. The menu calls them "World Famous", and the claim actually could be true. Big recommendation.

Went there most recently for breakfast. Had chicken fried steak with gravy. Good, and definitely a cut above what I had expected for southern gravy meets California cooking.

The place is comfortable with airplane models hanging from the ceiling.

The staff is attentive and friendly.

The food was good but the extra charges for wanting my breakfast my way, to save calories, was enough to prevent me from returning to this place. I can understand the extra cost for egg whites, but $2 Is a little high. Then for wanting tomatoes instead of potatoes, I was charged extra, which wasn't stated in the menu, but if you wanted fruit it was even more the egg whites. Then on top of all that, there wasn't much to the plate. They changed extra for the egg whites then barely gave you any. If you don't mind a $40 breakfast and don't plan to eat healthy then go here. Otherwise go...
