Went in for the first time after moving to the area. Inside is outdated and one waitress walking around in short shorts just lower than her t-shirt as if there is no dress code. Before commenting I was a cook for years and never bash anywhere because I have worked in restaurants. Arrived around 330 and zero guests in restaurant. Waitress hanging across from the hostess stand on padded benches scrolling on her phone. Waitress seated us and table which was sticky all over. Waitress was prompt taking our drink order and informed the kitchen an 2 top had arrived. Ordered the Bishop burger with seasoned fries and side salad. My wife ordered the “Baked haddock.” Burger was undercooked between rare and med-rare (I ordered medium) and apparently missed the memo about adding mayo and no pickles. Waitress did bring out the entire squeeze bottle of mayo when I asked for a side of mayo. My wife’s “Baked haddock” did not taste like haddock and had to have been microwaved and then put in the salamander to toast the mush on top. The Haddock was swimming in about 1/2 inch of cloudy water in the ceramic boat it arrived in. Corn on the cob wasn’t even cooked and hard as could be. The Haddock smelled very fishy like it had gone bad. I assume previously frozen and thawed in a sink. The good news is the salads were good even though they had 2 slices of cucumber on each and is served heaping over a dessert plate and no bowl to contain it. The biscuits and maple butter were delicious and French onion soup was good. Will not return here unfortunately. Being a previous cook from a restaurant this food is sub par at best. Ketchup at the table was also empty. Would think a waitress with this much downtime would be cleaning tables and filling...
Read moreBeen going there with or without family for 4 years now. Was expensive but thought the owner had good intentions and truthfully not much else to choose around here. They had my family or myself in either once a week or more up until tonight which will be our last night. I asked just for a topper of a drink and was charged 2 whole drinks for the extra shot. Owner Barry said it was normal now…. When is a shot $7 and a drink is $9…. So paid 16 for one drink, after saying it he comped one other…. Great! Not to be rude but he was talking down on us after as if we should no prices have gone up so a shot is $7 for Baileys!!! A bottle is 20 but a shot is 7…ok again last time going there and stinks bc thought it was a nice place before but rustic smell. Wait staff are great but again I’d never support the owner again and we let them know! Thing that got me the most was his trying to convince us that prices were going up and laughed while we have in total spend 10s of thousands of dollars there and he cant even say sorry next time you know. Trying to tell me a shot is $7 of baileys on top of a $9 drink so was $16, no way to treat anyone especially a family thats been going for years as ive mentioned and they know we just lost a grandparent that went there at least 3x a week, AT LEAST! bye barry, id say goodluck but to owners but id only want you open for the waitresses otherwise after your choice of words today, your $7 shots you said I should get used to, no get used to not paying your bills like all others who try and...
Read moreGuess you get what you pay for... literally dirty food and over poured drink. I have several areas to touch down on here, because the meals that were served were not good at all, and the overall experience was just blah.
Table was dirty, sticky and wasn't cleaned.
I ordered a quesedilla, my date ordered a Caesar wrap with a veg of day (fiddle heads). My food wasn't cooked so much so that the tortilla was barely toasted, cheese wasn't melted, and in top of that... had bits of other food stuck to it.
My date's wrap was mainly folded up tortilla and dressing with what looked like popcorn chicken here and there. THE FIDDLE HEADS... were not only undercooked, but oily, and covered in black grit from whatever dirty part of the grill they cooked it on. Not to mention, not cleaned properly from whenever they came in. Anyone who's had bad fiddleheads, knows.
The one mix drink that was ordered (at 3pm) was so over poured my date felt uncomfortable driving. I tasted it, and it was very much full of vodka. Thank God we both didn't get one, or we'd be stuck in the parking lot waiting to sober up.
So... in short. It's a cheap spot. But, I will never recommend it for food or...
