I haven't eaten here in years & tonight I wasn't feeling well so decided to order delivery. I ordered the Singapore Rice Noodle & hot & sour soup.
The only thing more disappointing than the food was the rude manner in which I was treated by the manager when I called to inform them about the problem with my food. The soup container was only half full & there was ONE mushroom slice & maybe 3 pieces of sliced bamboo shoot. It was pretty pathetic but I had an entire container of mei fun, so I just let it go.
The mei fun was so dry that the entire container of noodles had seized together into one hard clump. It was dry & tasteless, which is odd because this dish usually has a lovely curry sauce. No flavor. Zero. I transferred it into a mixing bowl thinking that perhaps all of the curry had gone to the bottom. But the only thing at the bottom was a scrambled egg that the cook had burned & they served it to me anyway. It was literally burned & black.
I called the restaurant to inform them & the manager was very rude & defensive. He said that nobody has ever complained about the Singapore noodle before & that in order for him to say anything to the cooks about it, that I would have to drive it back & return it, that he would need to see it & that he couldn't just take a customer's word on it. WOW! I explained to him that I wasn't asking for my money back - that I just thought as a business owner he would like to know if there was a problem with the food. He continued to argue with me & try to convince me that this bowl of dry noodles & burnt eggs was fine and that unless I provided proof he was not even going to mention it to the kitchen. Wow! I went for my pick up order and there was a pick up line outside the building and in both rooms inside, almost like a full dine in number of people creating a dangerous situation and no way to stay 6 ft apart. No system or direction in place- not one employee to direct people. They just kept taking call in and online orders that they knew couldn’t be ready. One man said he had been waiting 1.5 hours for his call in order. Everyone in the outside line was told their order would be ready at the same time. We are all more patient during COVID- but this was purposeful chaos. No one outside to direct you or inside. It appeared there was no attempt to give customers a realistic timeframe when the orders were placed. The parking lots was overflowing and dangerous getting in and out on 19. This is my first negative online review ever- I am so disappointed in this local restaurant that I have supported for over 30 years and more so during COVID.. Read moreTonight my family decided to order take out. Upon arriving home from picking up our order, we noticed multiple items on the list wrong. My father called the restaurant to ask for a new order to be placed, the gentleman on the other side of the phone was rude but agreed to my father's request. When my mother and myself went back into the restaurant we were faced with multiple rude individuals. For one, the owners sat back and did not pay attention to our request at all (instead they had some young inexperienced staff interact with the public). The young gentleman behind the desk was extremely rude and unprofessional. The best part is, they made us PAY for the extra orders THEY failed to place! When we got our second order, they failed to get it correct the second time and then had the nerve to tell us WE ordered wrong! I feel bad for anyone who has to deal with a negative, stubborn, mouthy, and unprofessional staff. I highly recommend not taking any professionals to this environment.
