OK don't be fooled by the Burger joint inside a gas station, this place has rock'n really good burgers!! Since it is a gas station, there is limited seating accommodations inside, but there are some table benches outside. The prices are pretty darn good for what you get. I got the State of Bardo Burger with some bacon for just a buck more, and it was delicious!! The grilled cheese buns were executed perfectly, crispy buns with cheesy bread. The meat paddies were the star of the burger, grilled & meaty with some crispy edges. I probably could have eaten 2 but I'd be in the hospital 🤪 The fries I had were not the one's you see pictured, natural cut with partial skin on the ends, these were just your typical plain jane cut fries (almost steak). The poutine was disappointing, not for the taste but execution, steak fries and brown gravy were not hot enough to melt the cheese curds, and these fries can't be used if they plan to call it Poutine. I can only definitely recommend this place for their burgers, IMO, I definitely consider this one of the best Burgers to get in Austin, don't let the gas station atmosphere turn you away give it a try. You will walk a way with the satisfaction of having a really good burger!
I've been back a few times, since, but Today, I remembered to take pics of the traditional Buddha Burger. The meat patties were thick, juicy, and crispy all at the same time! The bun is soft and fresh, which complements the patty meat so well. My only issue was the sauce maybe a little to heavy handed or watery, so I would probably go lighter on the sauce next time. Otherwise, another awesome experience and my new friend enjoyed the burger too! I had to up my rating bc everytime I come, the food quality is always great and I never leave disappointed, seating or restaurant...
Read moreThis place was pretty delicious! Unfortunately the only three negatives they have going for them are no drive through, only one register to check out, and it is very limited seating if you want to stay and eat. Maybe like a total of five seats only for a seating area.
The seating area is around the soda fountain machine and if you’re lucky enough to stay and eat you’re sitting behind the coffee machine for the gas station.
This place definitely needs its own building space with the great food that they’re providing. They shouldn’t have to compete with the gas station. Hopefully in future they will expand to one of the buildings behind them that are under construction.
They have a beef, chicken, and vegetarian options to choose from. Regular fries or Cajun fries. I highly recommend the Cajun fries.
They also have milk shakes options to choose from such as vanilla, strawberry, salted caramel.
The burgers, you can order a single patty, double or even a triple. I ordered the double cheeseburger and it was pretty decent. However, the sizing is a little smaller than the average hamburger we are used to. But you won’t waste any food that’s for sure.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. One the staff members went above and beyond to mark my order with numbers on my receipt to help me figure out which order was which when I got home. That really did help me out.
Overall my experience here was really good and I look forward to coming...
Read moreI don't write reviews for restaurants, but Buddha Burger is different. It's special. It is way, way better than a burger stand in a gas station has any right to be. Starting with their strangely stunning website, all the way down to the food, everything is perfect.
This is the only restaurant that I have ever ordered delivery from, eaten the food, and gone "holy crap that was so good, I am getting more" and put in another order for a second one immediately, and ate that too. Literally. I drastically underestimated just how much of their delicious food I could shovel down my gullet, and did a repeat of my full delivery order immediately upon completion of the first.
You don't know me so let me emphasize: I'm not overweight; far from it in fact, and usually, I am not passionate about food. For me, eating is normally a chore, but the burgers at this place are really just so transcendent (Buddhism pun not intended) that I frequently spontaneously think about their cheese burgers and that's what happened just now, and I was like "I should really write a review for them." So here we are.
This is the kind of place, that if I ever move away, I will be thinking about in twenty years. "Remember Buddha Burger? God that place was so good"
