The Varsity Sports Bar and Grill is a hidden gem that truly stands out for its delicious food and welcoming atmosphere. Over the three days that they have been open, I had the opportunity to try several of their standout dishes, and I was thoroughly impressed.
First, let’s talk about the Brisket Melt. This sandwich is a must-try! The tender, flavorful brisket paired with melted cheese creates a perfect combination, all nestled between perfectly toasted bread. Each bite melts in your mouth and left me wanting more.
The pizza at The Varsity deserves a shout-out as well. With a crispy crust, generous toppings, and a savory sauce, it’s easily among the best I’ve had in the area. Whether you prefer classic pepperoni or something more adventurous, they have a variety that caters to every taste.
The pretzel bites were another highlight. Served warm with a side of cheese sauce, these bites are the ideal snack for sharing, or to enjoy all by yourself while watching the game. They have just the right amount of chewiness, making them incredible.
Despite the less-than-ideal weather prior to my visits, which was explained to me by management and led to some delivery delays, the staff at The Varsity handled everything with grace and professionalism. Their positive attitudes and dedicated service made the experience even more enjoyable, showing true commitment to customer satisfaction.
To top it all off, The Varsity is set to add a full swing golf simulator, which is sure to elevate the experience even further. This addition will not only offer a fun way to enjoy the sport indoors but also create a fantastic social atmosphere for golf enthusiasts.
Overall, The Varsity Sports Bar and Grill is a fantastic destination for great food, attentive service, and an inviting vibe. I highly recommend visiting, especially to try the brisket melt and pizza, and I can’t wait to see how the new golf simulator enhances this already great...
Read moreThis was a birthday celebration for one of the "girls" in our girl group. The place wasn't packed at all due to the time of day because it is early afternoon on a Sunday. That was a plus we ordered drinks the classic Margarita was ok it could have used a little more tequila. Others had a Bahama Momma. They said their drinks were good. None of us really knew what to order, so we asked our server, Ashtyn, what her suggestions were. She suggested the wings, pizza, or oysters. I chose the 12 piece wing bone in mild and Caribbean for my sauces. One of the girls chose the 8 piece wing medium and Caribbean as her sauces. She asked Ashtyn if that particular sauce was spicy. She said no tangy and sweet. Well, the Caribbean wings are spicy. So if you don't like spice, don't get those. The mild was delicious with a touch of spice. The next guest in the group ordered a pizza. She said it was good. Well, I would hope so it was hot, but it wasn't cut all the way, so she asked for a knife. The birthday girl ordered the smothered chicken with a mushroom sauce on top and a side salad. She said good, not heavy with sauce, which was a plus for her. Our server was attentive. The atmosphere was nice if you like a bar and grill style restaurant. They had plenty of seating a performance stage, a boutique on the other side for a little shopping. Overall it is a nice place. I do recommend you check it out...
Read moreI was a little hesitant about the changes the owners were going to make as I love having a local restaurant close to home and I feel we have enough bars. But I went Friday to their opening night and yes they had a band coming in to play, but before the party crowd got there we sat down for dinner and it felt very family friendly and even though it was filling up with people waiting for the band I felt people were respectful to those that were there just to have a nice dinner. Not to mention they do have areas outside of the main stage area you can sit at if you want.
I had the wings with fries and they were amazing! The wings were huge with lots of meat on them and the Fries were fresh. I was so excited to see pizza on their menu and was disappointed they weren’t ready to start serving the first night but I did go back in yesterday and orderedone and omg!!! Soooo good! Sorry papa John’s and lil ceasars…. The varsity is my place for pizza going forward!
Recommendation…. Give it a try and sit where you think you would be comfortable. Lots of options to try the...
