Fork Five has done it again! Blown my mind!

Raspberry lemon: This wonderful concoction perfectly exhibits the saying "opposites attract" For the first taste you think "oh I know what lemonade is/taste like, this will be just the same" Wrong again! I never knew what lemonade was, everything else was a cheap knock off! The tartness of the lemon catches your attention and then the sweetness comes and sweeps you off your feet without leaving that cloying feeling that you find in most attempts at this combination, trying to over correct for the lemons. This was a perfect duet that carries you through their respective extremes, in such a smooth and truly enjoyable way!

Chocolate chip cookie bar: This ain't your grandma's cookie bar! I'm a shoveler. I just shovel foods (especially sweets) into my face hole, like a competitive food eater. Most of the time barely tasting it. So, imagine my surprise when I took a bite of this cookie bar and then stop! Not out disgust or distaste, but out of sheer surprise! The being who created this decided that cookie bars are "nice", but let's make this great! This creation has all the appearances of a normal bar, but when they hand you the wrapped package, you feel the weight. This bar is dense! Not in a "I'll break a tooth" way, but in a "oh wow! They packed ALL of the awesomeness in eat and every bite!" They accomplished this while still maintaining a glorious chewy and moist bite! Okay, so why did I stop eating it you ask? What short-circuited my brain? The answer is Salt. Not the small boulders you normally find, that make your mouth feel like it is the war zone for flavors to Duke it out, but a fine dusting baked in on top so that when you take a bite expecting the "usual", your tongue has to do a double take! Was that Salt, no...yes?! By the time your tongue and brain recover, the wave of sweetness comes and envelopes like the perfect firmness pillow topped mattress that you could sleep for days in!

All this to say that the rules don't apply to Fork Five. They are constantly pushing the envelope on what you think reality is. And they do not disappoint.

When one thinks of the term “food truck”, one will often relate it with the smells of deep fryers and heavily salted foods. This is not the experience that you will find at Fork Five. When approaching the truck, the first thing that you will notice is the clean air and fresh food smells surrounding the truck. Typically, when food truck dining, one would also expect burgers, dogs, and sub sandwiches. Not here. At Fork Five you get a very yummy selection of Pita Sandwiches! These sandwiches range from Steak and mushroom, several chicken options, taco, pork, gyro, and a delightful mushroom and truffle no meat pita. (I’m sure I’m forgetting a few) using a beautiful blend of spices, herbs and fresh locally grown produce. You will also find a variety of different macaroni and cheese dishes, cheesecakes, cookies and specialty lemon aids. All prepared for you, fresh by a gourmet chef.

Forget what you know about standard food truck fare. They offer no roadside hamburger. No jobsite burrito. Fork Five is, simply put, gourmet cuisine on wheels. Prepared by a literal first-rate chef, Fork Five's culinary offerings consist primarily of varieties of pitas, from a traditional gyro to an exotic chicken shawarma (featuring a Mediterranean flair). I found the steak and mushroom pita to be a creamy, well-seasoned supply of generous amounts of meat and savory mushrooms. Desserts offered include refreshing iced drinks, specialty cookies, and amazingly delectable cheesecakes. Staffed by one family, patrons are greeted with genial, helpful attentiveness. Wait times were slightly longer due to orders being made fresh on demand and due to the overwhelming popularity of the business itself.
