Frescos Raspados Water & Ice — Restaurant in Phoenix

I don’t typically write reviews, so you’ll know this’ll be a good one. One star for Thrifty’s ice cream. I simply went in for bags of ice and a scoop of ice cream, but the husky guera (spanish slang for white girl) in the front is apparently blind and deaf. I only ordered one scoop of ice cream and bags of ice that you can count on one hand. She had the audacity to accuse me of stealing and was too lazy to check the back of my car to see if it had the supposed “stolen” bags of ice. Thank goodness the cash register can do all the math. I’ve been here plenty of times to buy my family ice cream and raspados, but the experiences were nothing like this one. I like Thrifty’s ice cream, but I know of other establishments that serve the same thing & better raspados. Trust me, as a Mexican-American, I love supporting local businesses. I saw this place on IG and couldn’t stop thinking about it. So naturally, we travelled half an hour to this location because fresa con crema. I freakin love fresa con crema so much. The rich cream, fresh strawberries and whipped cream were a treat sent straight from the heavens.

As we walked in the sweet girl handling the ice cream was washing her hands and I appreciated that. She was fast to make our treats and her customer service was genuine. My husband ordered a Oreo milkshake and it was AMAZING. It just totally blew us away! On my way out I ordered a frozen chamangato add to my michelada for later on in the evening. Trust...

This place is cute and definitely has excellent customer service!! I went there tonight and my cherry fell off my sundae when I was walking out (which I was embarrassed about) I was going to pick it up but the nice lady that worked there said not to worry that they'll pick it up. She made me feel better about the situation and less embarrassed! She even offered to get me another cherry!!! So sweet and I'm definitely coming here again and again.
