First time here. Stopped by on the way through on a short distance road trip. You can’t miss this place as it is the only building in the middle of an open area.
For the appetizer we just had chips, salsa and cheese dip. Both the dips were good, I just wish they were a little bit thicker in consistency. Most of the dip was just sliding right off the chip.
For the main meal, we had the Chicken Fajita Nachos and Azteca Fajitas. With the Azteca Fajitas, you get a good portion of chicken, steak and shrimp. I think there were 6 or 7 shrimp total. The Chicken Fajita Nachos was a different story. It didn’t taste like a “traditional” nacho plate. Jalapenos and sour cream were an extra charge. The half-melted cheese was a new look to me for a nacho plate. All in all it was good, especially for the price, however, I will pass on the nachos if we ever stop in on the way through somewhere.
BONUS - If you are sweet tea fanatic like the wife, you should try it. She said it was one of the better tasting ones she’s had.
Also, I didn't find a menu online so hopefully the posted menu will help you decide if you want to...
Read moreI am only giving a 1 star so I can post this, if I could I would give them -100 stars. The food was very disgusting! I ordered a side order of bean dip, was like someone dumped a whole bottle of salt into it, my husband got some pineapple thing and he also said it was super salty! They was nice enough to take it off the tab ,(hubbys meal) but the price of everything is overly priced for how horrible the food tastes. It is very much not worth your money or time to go there. I will never go back again, if I wanted to eat salt I could of ate some salt for free staying at home. Also the cheese sauce is like if you mushed up cottage cheese as small as you could get it and heat it up just a bit, that's how I can describe the texture, and I can't even begin to describe the flavor of it, as it is NOT the cheese sauce I'm used to eating at these type of restaurant's, salsa was also very garlicy, couldn't call it salsa for how watery it was. I don't usually give ratings on things, as I just tell people it's good or not as I see them, but I can't see having someone waste...
Read moreSo the place was dead which is usually not a good sign. The atmosphere was very chill obviously. It seemed to be family owned and operated. I ordered the chimichangas deluxe which came out disappointingly soft and mushy instead of crispy dark golden brown as they should have. This came with a steak, shrimp and chicken chimi and a simple iceberg lettuce salad -no rice and beans which I expected as every other restaurant serves it it with rice and beans -I am sure the menu said salad. The steak tasted as bland as you can possibly cook it. I also ordered bean dip and the Mexican cheese dip on top was strongly reminiscent of powdered-milk and tasted nothing like typical Mexican cheese dip. Bottom line it seems the cook -"cooks" for a living but his heart is not in it based on the quality of products and performance of the dish served. I hope this serves to improve the quality and service for the future. I would look forward to trying the improved Don Bigotes...
