JUST BAD! I was in Pierre for three weeks and looking for a healthier food option, there's not much choice in this town. The first time I tried to come to this restaurant on a Saturday night, as I was walking up to the door, a staff member, I suspect the owner, was coming to lock the door to close 40 minutes before listed hours. I had looked them up specifically before I drove there, the man said he was closing early. I find this unprofessional.
I came back two days later. While the restaurant looks like a sit down and order restaurant, once you walk in, who really knows because no one greets you, there are no signs saying wait to be seated or go up front to order. It's a large restaurant, there was one other couple seated in the restaurant, so I sat down. There was no staff in sight. After about 7 minutes, a lady appeared to bring the couple their food. She noticed me and looked perplexed, I asked did I order here or up front. She then says, "when you are ready to order, ring the bell."
I had the hot and sour soup which came out first. It tasted deceit, however, as I was sitting their, I became rather annoyed by the amount of flies swarming me to the point I couldn't enjoy my food because they kept trying to land on my bowl. I realized that I wouldn't eat in peace. So I covered my bowl with a napkin, so the flies wouldn't land on it, went back up front and asked the lady to package up my food to go, so I could go back to my hotel and eat in peace. I had the Chicken and Vegetables which was absolutely bland and no seasoning, I ate about half and never ate the rest.
I live in Vegas where we actually have a China town, this place would go out of business quick, but in a town that is a food desert like Pierre, I guess they can flourish. In my opinion, I highly wouldn't...
Read moreThis is the middle of nowhere South Dakota so finding quality, let alone any, Chinese restaurants is tough. This is probably the only Chinese restaurant in Pierre I think so considering that it is ok. The food is average priced and the portions are huge like most Chinese places. The restaurant itself is very dirty and pretty much a "self-serve" place as the staff pointed to where all the silverware and cups are at, and you help yourself to what you need. The most disappointing part was the lo mein... I love lo mein and that's all I ever get because of the big doughy noodles. This place uses these little string noodles or something weird so out of like 100 places that have the same lo mein this was the first place I went where it wasn't the traditional lo mein noodles like every other Chinese restaurant in the world. The food tasted decent though so that was good - just don't look too close as they don't clean, and you...
Read moreThe worst experience of my life! The food was okay mine wasn't hot just warm and my daughter's was way too sweet! The owner's/worker's were fighting and yelling in the back the whole time we were there, which ruined our experience. The only time our waiter came to our table was once to ask if we were okay and the other to give us the bill. We weren't offered refills on our drink's and we waited 20+ minutes for him to come out from the back to GET his attention so we could pay. The only reason he came out front was because someone came in. Needless to say he was not given a tip and the only reason I didn't walk out without paying is because I'm an honest person! This is even the first time in my life I have ever NOT left a tip. NEVER will we go there again! Horrible...
