The Butter Dish — Restaurant in Pikeville

Came in on a Saturday for breakfast and a day of exploring the area. We were not disappointed, every menu item we had was delicious. We had the biscuits and gravy, a huge omelet and eggs benedict. Melissa was our server and she was so kind and wonderful. She even gave us some suggestions to check out in the area. We had a very nice visit with Mr. Stewart. Coming to the Butter Dish felt like coming to eat with family. It's a great combination of excellent food, excellent service and a welcoming atmoshphere. It was such a great experience that we will be returning as often as possible. We actually came back through for dinner the same night before heading home. The fried shrimp was the freshest tasting I've ever had and so flavorful and big. The sauces seem to all be homemade (and delicious) that we had which is harder to find these days. We also had the smoked chicken salad sandwich and ham and cheese sub, all homemade: fries, chips and onion rings. We all thoroughly enjoyed each dish and side, they all stood out and were quality ingredients. I'm still thinking about how delicious the shrimp and homemade tartar sauce was and my husband's breaded onion rings with homemade ranch. We will definitely be back and want to go for Thursday night seafood night and Friday night steak night. As you can tell, delicious is the only way I can describe the food here. After seeing this restaurant on Facebook and reading many reviews, my husband and I decided to give it a try during late lunch hours. This is what we had - ~Appetizer was the wicked shrimp and OMG Soooo good 😁 !!!!!! ~Bacon cheese Burger with onion rings 🤌🏻👌🏻Soo tasty ! ~Hot ham & cheese with fries 😋 pretty darn good !!! I went with what I always go with for my drink which is sweet tea.... But I am extremely picky about my tea so my only suggestion is to DUMP more of that sugar a little heavier in the sweet tea 😂 but that's just me so this is by no means a complaint because I drank every drop of what was in my cup !!!

We were seated immediately, had drinks in less than 3 minutes , order takin right after and our meals came QUICK !!!

Our server was a very polite and an attentive woman who took time out of her day to conversate with us ( she's the one from Cali so let her know we give her a 👍🏻 and that her tip was included with our bill when we paid )

The restaurant was very clean and neat and if we weren't full we would have absolutely gotten some of them delicious looking deserts !!!! Maybe next time !!! Parking is nice and close as well !!!!

This place is so cute. But the problem is we ordered old bay wings and it was ice cold, our server even felt it and said she didn't know what was going on with the cook. We are from Maryland and was really excited about having those for the first time since we moved. Our server offered to get us something else so we dicided to get the onion rings, they were so thin and no flavor. Another disappointment. I ordered the meatloaf. Again flavorless and so dry. You can tell it was heated up on the grill as it was partially charred, mashed potatoes were instant and corn was frozen andd warmed up. It does not take a long time to mashed fresh mashed potatoes or even day old potoatoes and warm up.. My husband had a patty melt and said his was okay.
