Showed up about 9 AM with my father and my son to eat breakfast at this restaurant for the first time. When we entered the door, they were busy & all the tables were taken up. We were thinking, Wow!! must have some good food. However, as we entered the establishment, we got no “hello” or “we will be right with you”. No big deal, it was busy. It was at this time when I saw a gentleman sitting at the table by himself right in front of me. I said hello and started to talk to him about the tables that I can see in the other part of the restaurant. He instructed me to talk to the one young lady who was in the kitchen right there and that’s what I did. It is at this time that a waitress to me rudely looked at me and said “excuse me can I help you”? With the very rude and condescending tone. Almost as if where I was standing wasn’t where I should be even though we didn’t receive a hello or we will be right with you when we walked in the door. We were just kind of standing there. I simply looked at this lady and told her I was just trying to be friendly to get some instructions anbout seating and she rudely said to me again “we will be right with you”. With the same tone, I simply turned around, and all three of us left to go eat at a real restaurant, sizzling steak and eggs. Not sure how the food is here I’m sure it’s probably very good, but I will never enter this establishment again due to the rude service that I received from...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at The Harness Track Diner, and I can confidently say it was one of the best breakfast experiences I've ever had! From the moment I walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere made me feel right at home. The decor, with its charming equestrian touches, perfectly complements the diner’s namesake.
The menu is a breakfast lover's paradise! I opted for the classic pancake stack, and they were fluffy, golden, and served with a generous drizzle of maple syrup. My friend ordered the eggs benedict, which was cooked to perfection with a rich hollandaise sauce that was simply divine. The side of crispy bacon was the cherry on top!
What truly sets The Harness Track apart is the exceptional service. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. She made great recommendations and ensured our coffee cups were never empty.
The prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality and portion sizes you receive. Plus, the diner has a cozy, community feel that makes you want to linger a little longer.
If you’re in the area and craving a delicious breakfast, The Harness Track Diner is an absolute must-visit. I can’t wait to return and try more of their...
Read moreHow do I answer this, giving the right impression? First of all, I love this place. Been having great breakfasts here for 20 years. It is a landmark located on the horse track in Pinehurst. From October to May you can watch trotters training on the track. The food is great. The menu, and more importantly, the recipes and owners have not changed in, probably 40 years. All that being said, it's a small concrete block building. It's noisy with talk and laughter. You have to walk THROUGH the kitchen to get to some of the tables. The staff is family. In short, it's not close to fancy, but it's close to my heart. Eat there when you're in Pinehurst and it will be close to your...
