On 04/21/2024 my boyfriend, his son, and myself stopped for a late lunch at Rick's on the way home from Louisiana. There were only a couple of families in the restaurant however, when asked to seat ourselves, every booth was dirty. When we got there I had to run to the restroom. There was urine all over the toilet seat. The trashcan was full and had bloody toilet tissue in it. The soap dispenser in the restroom did not work. Instead, they had 2 Soft-Soap bottles that had run out of soap that they filled with water halfway. Both soap dispensers outside of the restrooms were out of batteries. We ordered bacon wrapped shrimp as an appetizer. Each of us ate 2. For lunch, my boyfriend's son ordered a fried shrimp salad, and him and I each ordered the 14 oz ribeye steaks which were priced at 27.99. I ordered mine rare and he ordered his bleu. The waitress did not know what this meant. She went back to the kitchen to advise them of our order. The kitchen staff said they would not cook his steak bleu because that's how you get salmonella. This is not a naturally occurring bacteria in beef. My boyfriend changed his order to rare. These dishes came with a side salad. The salad was in a VERY small sauce bowl and contained a small amount of iceberg lettuce, 2 pieces of tomato, and some shredded cheese. The steaks we received were incredibly poor quality. Not even half an inch thick, at least a third of the piece of meat was a huge chunk of fat, no where near 14 ounces even before cooking, and both were cooked well done. They clearly were skirt steaks and not ribeyes to top it off. If we didn't have a time limit for lunch we would not have even accepted the meal and taken our business elsewhere. In hindsight, we should have. All three of us ended up with food poisoning and have been sick for the past two days. I do not recommend this establishment to anyone passing through or living in this town. Not worth the money and definitely not worth the foodborne illness that...
Read more1st time at this restaurant on 12\15\24. Bought my son to lunch. I ordered for an appetizer a small bowl of Gumbo and my son ordered the fried pickles. I had 1 taste of the gumbo and it was awful - had a bad taste. I told the waiter to take it away. He said Oh, you didn't like it? I told him it tasted horrible. Anyway, I ordered a filet (steak), what I was served was not a filet. I asked the waiter and he said yes, that was a filet. This was an insult to my intelligence! I know very well what a filet looks and taste like, and that wasn't it. This steak had so much fat on it that it looked like a small portion of a very thin ribeye. I was charged for the price of a filet. My son's meal, thank goodness, was good. After I questioned the waiter about my steak, we never saw him again. The service was terrible after that. Neither myself, or my son will ever go back to this restaurant again. I have eaten filets all my life, I know very well what one looks and taste like! With service and food of this caliber, this establishment will not remain in business long in...
Read moreWell... I'm very sad to say it but nobody was very impressed with the food.
The prices are high for the quality you get. I had oyster poboy with fries, family friend a burger, husband had crawfish poboy and father in law had fried fish. The fried oysters and crawfish were hot and fresh tasting but that's about it from nice things. We had literally one slice of tomato and 2 onion rings with 2 slices of lettuce. The sandwich was long and would be nice to get 3 slices of tomato at least and more onion. Ready to eat sauces and packets were kinda disappointing, same with frozen fries, wish they would have handmade sauces or at least fries!
We had fried pickles and jalapeños as appetizers and they were very good!
Family friend said his burger tasted ok but bland. Fish my father in law had was alright but not seasoned at all.
I was hoping this place would have more potential. Owner was walking around us and I'm sure he heard us talking. I have high hopes the business will thrive, but they surely need to put some more effort...
