To begin with, the bar seemed indecisive about the type of food they wanted to offer/ cater (American, Asian & catfish?) which are order thru different vendors within the same building. Our waitress took an excessive amount of time to take our order, and it took an additional 30 minutes to bring us a single appetizer—the bread. They knew we had ordered food but failed to provide napkins, even after we asked for some. I wouldn't recommend coming here, especially since drinks average $20. During happy hour, they didn’t apply the $2 discount to each drink, and when I pointed it out, the waitress mentioned they decide who receives the discount. This wasn't what was mentioned on the menu. You might as well go to Applebee's, where they actually pay attention to all their customers, not just the regulars, because for a party of two, they only focused on one of us for the ordering everything. Despite having a total of eight people, it took them from 5:10 to 7:00 to serve our food and drinks and they messed up the order. To top it off, I found hair not only in my drink but also in my food.

If you’re looking for the best bar in town, look no further. This place has it all — from a jaw-dropping tap selection that rivals Hotel Mac to perfectly crafted cocktails worthy of a five-star rating. Let’s start with the taps. Whether you're a hop-head chasing the latest hazy IPA or a fan of crisp, clean lagers, the beer list here is second to none. It’s clear they’ve put serious thought into their draft lineup, bringing in both local legends and rare finds that would make any beer connoisseur do a double take. But what truly sets this bar apart is the cocktail game. Every drink is balanced, bold, and made with precision. From the classics like an Old Fashioned or Negroni to seasonal creations that change with the bartender’s inspiration, every sip is a reminder that this place takes its craft seriously. The atmosphere? Laid-back but elevated. The kind of place where you can kick back after work or bring a date and still feel like you’re somewhere special. Simply put, this bar doesn’t just compete with the best in town — it is the best in town. Hotel Mac, watch your back.

For starters, I have always had a soft spot for this location. I had delivered pizzas here as a teen. And then loved 4 corners. Was not thrilled with the last business in this spot, so I was beyond thrilled and smiling when I was immediately greeted by Kay (owner) & Adonney (not sure how to spell your name 😖)… they were both so kind and friendly and engaging. I’d go back simply for the atmosphere, and the killer libation creations… then…. The food came out!!! I was only there for take-out, so I promptly made my way back home to enjoy!! SOOOOOO GOOD!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu!! AND… the desserts!!

I dropped by Copper Mug tonight and was blown away. From the moment I walked in, the owner—and former distributor turned hospitality magician—welcomed us with warmth, charm, and genuine hospitality. One Yelp reviewer described Kay as “incredibly friendly and loves talking to folks,” and I totally agree—he took the time to chat with everyone, cracking jokes and sharing the story behind Copper Mug .

🍻 Unbelievable Beer & Cocktail Selection With over 20 beers on tap—including rotating craft brews to-go—and cocktails that are lovingly crafted, it’s a paradise for anyone who appreciates quality pours . Their Moscow Mule in a copper mug was ice-cold, bracing, and perfectly balanced—the kind of drink that makes you appreciate the small details.

🍽️ Excellent Food We tried a bit of everything: Indian-inspired samosas, Mississippi catfish, momos, and fries. Each dish was flavorful and skillfully prepared. One Yelp user proclaimed it “the best samosa I’ve EVER had” . I second that. The fusion of Indian, Southern Cajun, and American comfort cuisine is done with finesse—spicy, seasoned, and satisfying in every bite.

🎯 Final Word Copper Mug hits on all cylinders: an owner who’s genuinely glad you’re there, an outrageous drink list perfect for craft‑beer lovers and cocktail fans alike, and food that’s bold, flavorful, and served with flair. If you haven’t been yet, it’s time to change that. This place is exactly what El Sobrante...

The Copper Mug is a restaurant, taproom, and full bar. You'll notice that most of the reviews mention the owner, Kay. There's a reason for this. He personally greets nearly every customer that comes through the door an makes sure you feel welcome.

If you're looking for a great spot to eat, drink, hang out with friends, or meet someone new, the Copper Mug is the best spot in El Sobrante.

The food is a mix of Indian, Himalayan, and a few American comfort food appetizers. There's something for everyone, including vegetarians.

The taproom is impressive with 16 taps with some of the best breweries represented: Russian River, Ghost Town, and even Wonderous, which I've never seen sold anywhere besides the brewery in Emeryville.

They also have at least 100 different spirts, so if you're picky about your alcohol, you won't be disappointed.

And if you like mixed drinks, you're in for a treat. Kay, Ebony and Rachelle make excellent drinks. All the classics as well as new creations you won't find anywhere else.

Kay has also added wine to the offerings, so no matter what your friends like to drink, everyone in your group...
