Really scratching our heads at the mixed reviews here, but the coupon they offered was so great we thought we would give it a try.
Ribs were delicious and tender and meaty with not too much fat. Mac and cheese with creamy and delicious. The cornbread was moist and tasty. The skin on the chicken was a little tough. It did make me wonder about some of the comments here regarding whether or not they get their chicken already cooked... I can't imagine that they would though, because raw chicken is cheaper than cooked chicken every day.
While the ribs were delicious, they did not carry much smoke in their flavor. The chicken however was smokey tasting. The coupon.. dinner for two: a full rack of ribs, a half a chicken, two sides and cornbread. For 25 bucks! Well worth it for that coupon alone. I would have given them five stars if the skin on the chicken wasn't so tough and the ribs had more smokey flavor. We'll probably go back...
Read moreContext: im originally from Kansas City, lived in the south for several years, and have traveled all over Texas. So I’m a bit of a BBQ snob. But, all that tasting has given me the ability to spot fakes. I had the brisket sandwich, which was tough, dry, and way too small for $14. It had a drizzle of what tasted like a thinned out version of Sweet Baby Ray’s. The bun was dry. Reminded me of the buns you get in the field in the Army. The Mac and cheese was flavorless, although you get a large serving. The lid on the smoker was open the whole time I was there and it was behind an abnormally tall bar at which you order. I’m thinking they just light some sticks on fire in there for the smell, and bring in pre-made food from somewhere else. Also, I had a vicious stomach ache the rest of the day. 10/10...
Read moreContext: I'm from the South and have had plenty of BBQ, good and bad, in both the North and South.
The good: service was fine, it's outdoors and looks nice
The bad: I got a pulled pork sandwich, Mac and cheese, and BBQ beans.
The bun was pathetic. I could walk to giant eagle and grab the first bun off the shelf and it'd be better. It's small and dry. The pork was somewhat dry as well. Sauce was not that good but it was on some sad pork so who knows.
Mac and cheese was ok like a Stouffers frozen Mac and cheese. Not bad but nothing special.
Bbq beans were pathetic. They just barely have any flavor. Slightly sweet.
I recently went to Showtime and it was amazing. This place is closer but they need a complete menu overhaul. Put some damn flavor in it. Give...
