Well, well, well. Some things never change. My family and I are from Newark and East Orange, New Jersey, as you all know and we could not wait to get in an area that possibly has halal, California/ Italian cheeseburgers and we found this location on a short trip we are on our here in Pittsburgh.
Drove many miles from our location downtown then to our next order of operations on the Southside immediately afterwards. I had to give this location low stars to show how I was respectful, as I always am because it does not hurt me to do so. I am blessed and do not need to short anyone or exude negative energy in the slightest. Which was really strange because the older gentleman at the counter was nice and attentive but decided to give us a LOT less chicken and beef on our Philly sandwiches which was a delicious but obvious as we drove away eating.
We became extremely disappointed and here we are. I could not give more stars because we was shorted and when he reads this his heart know what he has done. We were on a huge time crunch and could not return it. Also I did not check the food, purposely before hand for that same exact reason. I had already paid and if I noticed it short I would have just wanted a refund, not more meat all due to the disrespect.
It must be a skill for people take advantage and smile in a paying, respectful customer.
I do not even want to think about this place and situation any longer so I will end it here and move on with my life that continues to have people test and slight it as best as they ignorantly can. I will never teach my boys to live ignorant but to live in truth and honor for all, and never lose that commitment that they originally had.
I am either going to never order from another chicken shack in this area again or just have enough time to check out portions and sigh and ask for a refund like we have before but we were in such a great mood to support a similar community we come from and get done like this after giving this establishment a $9 tip.
It is pretty sad but this is the world we live in where people born in the fifties a time of major discrimination and segregation still hold those sentiments and cal us unruly when we speak up for the unjust or unwarranted behavior of others that has their television set on the propaganda and negativity stations and do not live in the communities they disrespect.
I stand for the educated and the steadfast to continue to use your better discernment to maneuver in a world where decisions are everything. I digress, blessings to you all and we apologize to post yet another ridiculous rating but this is our experience and no one can take that away so I continue educating myself because that could never be taken as well and also co to share so another young person could be wise enough to check their order without shame and request the necessary corrections to be made because we are the prize.
How dare anybody do this to us but would never do this to any other person of other ethnicities? I am so disappointed it I am over it because we had yet another fantastic time in Pittsburgh beside the twenty minutes spent here. Peace...
Read moreBeen here before and had fairly decent experiences. But I'm not sure what is going on lately with the team. The food, while portions are large, lack "flavor". Wings were not seasoned at all, as if the mediocre mild sauce was to carry them. The gyro was filled with bland meat and totally overloaded and with tzasiki sauce. Fries were soggy with no salt. But the biggest disappointment was the Italian beef. Tons of meat and sweet and hot peppers but was just a soggy mass at the bottom and the dip was not throughout it which was odd. It was if it placed in the container and the sandwich was placed on it. Also, the pizza puff needed a little more time to cook. Dough was not quite there in the middle. I usually never write bad reviews, I move on and usually just not recommend the business. But I think this could help this establishment get better. They have the menu, now they must nail the execution. When you have people that are from Chicago or frequent it often, and you serve this food to represent that city, you must give people a great impression everytime or you are doing an injustice. Your quality should match your prices. Hope this helps them in the future and good luck...
Read moreI placed my order online. It was a Philly Chicken sub, a double cheeseburger with NO tomato and NO mustard, two orders of bacon and cheese fries (which cost extra), sweet Thai chili wings, two apple pies, a diet Pepsi, and ice tea.
My actual order was a Philly cheese steak, a double cheeseburger that had tomato and mustard on it, two orders of regular season fries, a regular Pepsi, and a mountain dew. They did get the pies and wings correctly.
The food we did get was ok. The wings were the best out of everything. The amount of food you get for the price is impressive. I didn't think the burger was that memorable though, and my husband thought the cheese steak was ok. We both thought Swiss cheese was an odd choice for a cheese steak. I didn't really want a burger though. I only ate it because my husband can't have tomatoes or mustard, so neither of us ate what we wanted, and were too hangry to go back.
I tried to call, but it went to voice-mail and it said the mailbox was full.
I desperately want to support local businesses, but that was just too many wrong things. I'll probably give it another try, but I'm...
