Le Cupcake Shoppe is absolutely amazing. From the taste and appearance of the desserts to the friendly and attentive customer service. I have had two recent orders- first a bridal shower that I ordered a cake, mini cupcakes, and mini donuts. There was a variety of flavors to choose from and on the day of the shower there were so many compliments for how beautiful the desserts were and how delicious everything tasted. The second order was a cake for my baby shower- again, an absolutely beautiful cake and the flavor was vanilla bean with lemon buttercream icing. When picking up both orders, Alex helped us out to the car with everything to make sure it would be transported safely. Alex has taken my ideas for both occasions and brought them to life even better than I could imagine. She is absolutely amazing at what she does. We communicated mainly through email throughout the process with attentive responses from her. If you plan to order from this business, keep in mind that is run by two people and allow time for responses especially during the busy holiday season! Read moreThe cakes are absolutely delicious, the customer service is awful. Per Le Cupcake Shoppe’s Instagram page, you can “dm to order.” I messaged her on Instagram to place an order on Monday. I expected to receive a response within 24 hours or so. I thought it was strange how I didn’t receive a response by the end of Tuesday but I know life happens so I assumed I would eventually hear back. It was upsetting to see new stories posted on the Instagram page AFTER my message was sent. It was insulting to see that posting stories was more important than responding to a customer. Finally Wednesday came around with no response. I tried giving them a call, no answer. Right after I made the call, I emailed them the order. After all of this, still no response! I know it sounds crazy but Thursday I tried to call twice with still no response to anything!
I’ve never experienced this with a bakery before. As a customer you shouldn’t have to jump through hoops to place an order. Go support a different local bakery. What would happen if they took a deposit but you had a question, wanted to change something, or even confirm something, and you couldn’t contact them? Don’t risk it. Read moreThis vendor never once explained her policy. Never once asked for a deposit. Never once asked me to sign a contract or talk in the Shoppe. She claims that because the cake was simple she didn't see the need. She decided to cancel my cake 3 weeks before my wedding because I asked to pay a deposit and and the rest the day of. Never once did I say I wasn't going to pay her for the cake. But just as it's in her right to be paid it is well within my right to ask that the cake is what I wanted before spending money on it. Again I would of signed a contract, paid a deposit, given her a credit card to hold. But she did not ask for any of that. This is an example of poor communication.
EDIT: Also to note the most recent reviews below mine speaking of how amazing this shop is are directly from her friends in the business. And conveniently they were written right after my review even though prior to my issue the last few reviews were MONTHS apart. Good unethical practicing. You’re proving my point.
