Courtyard Cafe & Bakery — Restaurant in Pittsfield

The first time we went to this establishment we ordered our food waited for 40 minutes and was handed a bill and asked how the food was. WE NEVER GOT OUR FOOD! We waited two years and finally broke down and tried it again. This time we got coffee and water and never got a refill. We ordered our food( Biscuits and gravy and a Belgian waffle) and waited 45 minutes and watched a table of 8 get served before we did and they came in 20 minutes after we did. So again we left empty handed. I honestly can't speak for the food because we have never actually gotten any food from this low effort establishment in the two attempts of eating here. The most shocking thing about this is this place has so many good reviews. I honestly believe people in Pike county have no concept of what good food or acceptable service actually is. These people probably go to Cracker Barrel and are just blown away. So they give it good reviews because of hometown pride and it bloats the rating. I find more pride in the mud hole in the back yard. Don't give this place your money...this is...

Walking in seriously felt like we weren't supposed to be here, as if the place was abandoned. No music, no TV, no sound whatsoever, you could hear dust fall into the floor, which is never good for someone with anxiety. I felt like I couldnt talk or clear my throat without being the loudest thing in there. No waiters/waitresses/hostess in sight, so we sat ourselves, which is fine, but the place is so dark, if 2 other parties weren't already eating, I'd have walked right back out. When the server finally came out, he was nice & the service was good, food was tolerable, the old town feel was nice - but then even trying to pay our bill, we had to wait at the counter for 10 min just for someone to come out. Just didn't leave a great overall impression, kinda disappointed, the place seemed like it'd be...

We had the delicious pork sandwich and while you can get it other places, here it is perfectly cooked, not greasy, still tender, and huge! The french fries were perfectly seasoned and served hot, in the coastline is exactly what you would want, nice and creamy small cabbage pieces.

The chicken salad is equally as good on what tasted like fresh bread and does not have nuts, it is made fresh. The potato salad the same is the mustard variety and absolutely delicious.

If you still have room, try a dessert, they are also made in house. Great stop in...
