We live approximately 35 mins from Roasted Garlic and placed our order to go. We started with the whole roasted garlic head and tomatoes with crostini, as well as the garlic knots and dipping sauce. The roasted garlic and roasted tomatoes were so tasty and flavorful. Absolutely delicious. However, the crostini was so burnt/charred that it was too hard to even bite into (harder than a crouton), and, the burnt flavor overpowered the taste of the garlic and tomatoes. We threw the crostini away and just ate on the roasted veggies. See photos attached. The garlic knots were also burnt/charred too much, but ironically, still completely raw dough on the inside. Were talking malleable, 100% raw dough. These unfortunately went straight into the garbage. We couldn't pop them in the oven to cook them anymore bec they were so burnt on the outside and the burnt taste was so bitter. See photo attached. Next, we ordered a lasagna dinner, a Margherita pizza, and, the fried chicken sandwich. The lasagna had great flavor and the sauce was delicious. However, it tasted old and reheated unfortunately. It came with a garden salad that was fresh and yummy. The Margherita pizza was way too charred for our liking. Yes, we know its wood fired pizza. We have a wood fired pizza oven ourselves and know how the pizzas come out a bit darker. However, this was just too burnt. Including the bottom. All you could taste was the bitter char. Not enough sauce to even remotely try to help out. The chicken sandwich was decent. Chicken was very dry but the flavors were good and the jalapeno coleslaw was delicious. All in all, it was a pretty wasteful, bad experience and we wont...
Read moreWell, this WAS my favorite restaurant - UNTIL today!
I have a wheat allergy. Not a fad. An allergy. I get very sick if exposed to wheat. If you're like me, it's very hard to find a good restaurant with gluten-free food. Your restaurant charmed me with its cute atmosphere and the fact that there's a large selection of delicious GF food. I have ordered the same dish each time: shrimp alfredo...gluten-free version, of course!
Well, today is my birthday and you pretty much ruined it - twice. My husband called to make an order. The person on the other end clearly wasn't listening because he had to correct her twice. I heard him give the order. He left nothing out. He knows my health issues.
When he and my godmother came back home with my food, I caught breadcrumbs on top of my shrimp alfredo. That was strike one. You almost poisoned me despite explicit instructions.
Strike two is when my godmother went back over in my honor to get things redone. She wasn't rude. She was assertive because she was protecting my life. Whoever you have over there who is a young lady that says that she is the manager? She interrupted my godmother and was very rude to her and refused to speak with her until she "changed her tone." My godmother is very calm and professional. Again, my life was at stake.
Third strike was when your "manager" lied about my husband putting in the wrong order. He had two witnesses. He did not put in the wrong order.
The problem here is that I really want not to abandon you for making my birthday miserable, and yet, here I am. Good luck to you,...
Read moreI don't really get it. I have worked in a lot of restaurants and clubs. Never have I argued with a customer or even witnessed a co-worker arguing with a customer. Today our waitress argued with me over the bill which was clearly wrong on their part. I ordered some chicken wings which were listed on the menu for $13.25. When the bill came they charged me $20.00, a difference of $6.75. She told me that "there's a wing shortage". "The menu says that wings are $13.00", I said. She came back with "No, they are $18.00" not resolving anything but, instead, continuing with making an argument. I asked her to look at the menu and, sure enough, the menu says $13.25. No apology from her or the "manager". Instead she hands me $5.00 showing that not only are these people kind of rude, they also can't do simple arithmetic. You wouldn't mind -who needs the unnecessary stress-but the wings weren't even good. Not even close to the Old Forge. The bad thing is that I now have to find a new place to get my inspection stickers; they're next door. I used to drop my car off and go over to this place and have a beer or two while I was waiting for my car(s). Now I don't want to go back there-they're...
