Valor House Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Pittsville

The owner served us cold shrimp during Karoake night while we were trying to patronize their business instead of just singing. When the guy handed us a menu he should have told us the kitchen was closed. She handed the very full shrimp basket to me and said, our kitchens closed, so I heated them up then she shrugged and walked away. I touched my hand to the top of the shrimp and it was COLD. I had my husband take it back bc I'm not so good with these kinds of things. She offered to microwave the shrimp. He said no thanks. So I guess they have a bag of already "steamed and seasoned shrimp" ready to sell at MP in their freezer! No way in this economy was I playing market price for cold shrimp. Which who knows what that would have been. Then around 10pm when someone she likes came in and suddenly the kitchen is open, I start smelling food cooking, and she serves this woman and her daughter a hot meal. This was two weeks ago

We come back last night for karaoke and we were there for 30 minutes and we're completely ignored despite Nancy making eye contact with me. She has time to sing two karaoke songs but can't bring us any water. So my husband went and asked for two cups of water. She pretended not to hear him. He has to ask again, louder. Despite there being a stack of paper cups right in front of her at the bar, she turns around and goes into the back and brings back a paper cup from the back. Why? Then grabs one off the stack, puts ice in them both and fills them with water.

My question is, what did you do to our water? Then have all your friends suddenly sitting at the corner of the bar to watch us drink It? You must really think we were born YESTERDAY. I guess her intent is to make us never come back. She's content with having 3 tables of 2 ppl each. She knows what she did. I'll leave it at that.

Oh and if she tries to rally you in for a "farmers market". Don't do it. It's dependant upon people driving by and she just had a couple tables out with her used junk on it. That would have been a huge waste of time and a total BUST. Hmmm just like the customer service in this restaurant?

If you're pissed bc I left a review before I knew you, saying your 20$ burgers weren't worth it, I still feel the same way. Otherwise I don't know what else we could have done wrong to you. Are we too good at singing? Are we younger than you? Are we too cool for you? Are you mad that we don't drink and can have fun being sober? Everyone else is great to us. Hater. Will never be back, lucky for you. I bet...

My wife and I went for Thanksgiving dinner. The food we were served was among the best Thanksgiving dinner we have ever eaten out. The food was absolutely plentiful and delicious. The staff was extremely courteous and polite. I'm glad to see that this restaurant even though under a different name has withstood a generation change. Although Dave and his dog Otis are no longer there, Bunky White has maintained that small town diner always welcome feeling. Dave White would be proud. I recommend everyone give this place a chance, as I was absolutely surprised as even the dessert was homemade and great care was taken in its preparation. 2.25 for soda only get one refill. Burgers are salty, fried pickles are pickle chips breaded. There is a pool table that is uneven and balls are warn out. Service was terrible at bar, had to wait like 30 mins to order after being told like 4 times ill be right with you..I also had to ask repeatedly for to go box.
