The White Star Diner — Restaurant in Plainfield

We arrived around 5:00 PM on a Thursday. We were the only customers so there was parking on the street and plenty of parking in the back lot. Looking from the outside, this diner has a very nostalgic feel to it.

The cook greeted us when we walked in and took our orders immediately. We each ordered the lunch special that consisted of 2 Texas weiners (with everything on it), fries, and a can of soda at a decent price of $12. The food was ready in about 5 minutes and the texas weiners were great! The atmosphere was quiet during the time we went, making it slightly awkward while we were eating, but the experience was great nonetheless.

I honestly was a fan of this restaurant from young until my father passed and I haven’t visited so much recent but I do remember the patty melt coming WITH ketchup and Mayo, and the one I ordered tonight had neither. I called the restaurant and they told me to come back so they could put it on my sandwich as if I’m not miles away smh.
