Update: The general manager at the time reached out to us to apologize. We decided to return and come back to visit after 6 months. Our second visit was much much better. All the staff were nice, friendly, and responsive. The cook on the steaks were good, albeit the crab cakes were extremely salty. Desserts and drinks were excellent. Old review (August 2022) We came hungry and eager to try out this Ruth Chris. We each spent around $120 per person in total. The appetizer and drinks were served quickly, and they all tasted great. However, there were many issues afterwards. We ordered three steaks, all medium-rare. They came well-seasoned but the cook was wrong. The filet came undercooked, almost blue (but we were ok with this), while the $64 ribeye steak was completely overcooked, about well-done to medium-well. At first we thought it was only just the edges as the steak was quite thin, however, it quickly became clear that the entire steak is overcooked and tough to chew on. Our main complaint is how the restaurant handle this mistake. We couldn’t find our server and waited for awhile before we can speak to someone (in the end, we talked to an assistant server who promptly took the steak back to the kitchen). Then we had to wait for the main server to arrive and made us feel very uncomfortable as she asked us to wait to talk to the manager (as if we were lying). By the time the manager arrives, she really made us feel horrible about everything, and said that it has been too long (30 mins) since the steak arrives, and that I had already eaten too much into it. Even though, most of this time we actually just spent waiting to talk to someone. The kitchen was already supposed to close soon, everyone at our table already finished eating, so I of course didn’t want to bother ordering another replacement. They only did a small adjustment to our bill (still charge $32 for the overcooked steak which they removed long before we talk to the manager). In addition to this, the restaurant also forgot our lobster bisque, even after we reminded our server of it. By the time we walked out of the restaurant, I personally had only eaten maybe about 1/4 of an overcooked and very expensive steak, a few pieces of asparagus, and was treated horribly and made to feel small, in a supposedly nice restaurant. We are extremely disappointed and do not recommend this restaurant.

My first fine dining experience was definitely a hit this Valentines! Our servers Chris and Joel were very friendly, fast, and efficient in both making sure we were comfortable as well as the other tables we could see them frequent. They kept the same welcoming upbeat energy throughout our time there. Both servers had good synergy with each other, Chris was a bit monotone but that didn't damper anything, he let us know what he'd be doing for us and to expect Joel a little after him. Despite only being in charge of serving us bread and refreshments he did more than necessary which was very appreciated. Joel had a very upbeat time and personality and answered all our menu questions with ease, he seemed to have a good understanding of thr menu and what we would expect to have in front of us in terms of portions except for the creme brulé. He let us know it was deep but I think he meant wide since the depth was rather thin. Tony who I assumed is one of or THE manager there was also very friendly and offered us a replacement drink when the one ordered wasn't to my tastes, very nice of him! The overall atmosphere was very pleasant and seating was comfortable. Most of the food was amazing and made me want to order seconds to take home, like the spicy shrimp and sizzling crab cakes. The spicy shrimp has a nice crispy breading coated in a creamy spicy sauce served with thin cut onions and peppers. The crab cakes in sizzling lemon butter were my favorite of the night, they came sizzling hot in a thing layer of lemon butter, they were crisp on the outside, and seemed to melt in my mouth after each bite, they were the delicious main course. Our lobster mac & cheese wasn't to our tastes, it was served warm and the cheese was a little off, the lobster was good but we got one or two shells in the mix. Dessert was also a hit, I personally greatly enjoyed my first creme brulé, it was creamy and served with fresh assorted berries. The cheesecake was interesting but in a good way, it was my first time having one with such a thick crumbly cookie-like crust and whipped sour cream frosting on top I personally enjoyed. Whenever i thought i was full I would catch myself eating another five forkfulls. Our overall experience was excellent with great service, food, and parking + wait time was a dream. Definitely recommend.

I can't for the life of me figure out why anyone would choose to go here. The decor is dated and alienating, the prices are laughable, and the food is supremely underwhelming. This is not a place we'd typically visit, but we figured it was worth a shot since with the $100 gift card we had, it'd be roughly the same price of a more usual choice. From the minute we walked in, I was struck by how unwelcoming the atmosphere was. Think Cheesecake Factory meets Bennigan's with a tad more restraint. Everything has the veneer of quality, but, much like the plywood tables, the illusion dissolves when you pull back the curtain -- excuse me -- table cloth. I was curious about the steaks, but the prices were just obscene, and I'm a firm believer that there's an upper limit on how well a steak can be prepared and the value that can be injected in the process. So I went with the breadcrumb crusted sea bass. It was good, but almost anything will be good with that much butter on it. Also, anyone could make that with a $12 piece of fish and some panko. The crab cakes were fine, but, again, pretty basic stuff here. Neither dish was worth the price. The real travesty was the lobster mac and cheese. Undercooked noodles bathed in bland... cheese water??, topped with ground lobster meat and melted shredded cheese, it had the appearance of a dish dreamt up by a stoner who's never cooked before. Truly gross. The brussels sprouts were fine, but, again, we're talking home cooking 101. This can be made far better with just a few bucks and simple ingredients. I go to a restaurant to pay for a meal I can't or would prefer not to make. Truly mediocre restaurants make me wish I had made a trip to the store and taken the effort myself. This place tops that list for me. And what's with the sizzling plates?? I'm not at Chili's. Two stars for the friendly, attentive service, but I highly recommend avoiding this place.

Been coming here for years (work and personal) and was very disappointed with experience we had recently. Dinner at 6 pm, restaurant not crowded at all, maybe 6 tables. We were told we had two waiters, only ever saw one...but he took a good 10 minutes to come and take the drink order. When water came asked for lemon, never came back with lemon. 1 glass of wine and 1 scotch on the rocks took about 10-15 mins to arrrive. Waiter was very lack luster, never picked up on us needing refills of anything. Order our meals and wait another 15 mins for a salad and soup. Again, no checking to ask if we would like another cocktail.this is my favorite part.... Server who delivered salad and soup places down salad, puts bowl of soup down in front of me and tosses, yes tosses the spoon onto the table and darts off. I was so stunned, I thought did he really just do that? Soup was so spicy- not sure why acorn squash bisque was spicy and lukewarm at best. Wedge salad had no dressing on it. So we wait for waiter to come by to ask how are the starters, never happened. 15 mins go by and we just tell the waiter take this we are done and the salad had no dressing. Takes the two dishes and again, we have empty glasses and no request for refill. We had 1 cocktail each at this point. Another 15 mins and the steaks arrive....husbands is cooked correctly at medium. I ordered medium well and it was rare. So here we go again, waiter never asked cut into steak, make sure it’s how it should be, luckily he came back with spoons for the sides so it was only 5 mins I had to wait to tell him to take it back. A manager now comes by, we tell him how it’s going, he says it will be perfect from here on out..steak comes back with manager and it’s a well done hockey puck, as I predicted.....so $50 filet is charred. Now I know you shouldn’t order above medium but I do, however I don’t ask for well done. Sides were again lukewarm, average. So we ask them to take food away and get us our check. ( we asked the nice lady clearing our table) she said she would get our waiter right away....well 15 mins later a different General Manager shows up and doesn’t even know the whole story...says I understand the steak was undercooked and the spoon tossing. They are not communicating at all in the back, so he takes bill and removes my steak and the salad. Then gives us a $25 card to use by 3/30 from Valentine’s Day-stated on the card..and brings two glasses of champagne and cheesecake to go with modified bill..how about you take the free stuff we don’t want to eat or drink and take that off the $150 bill! Ruth Chris is not cheap and if you want to charge prices like this, you better have a good service to go with it. Plenty of staff walking by and I am sure they noticed and said nothing, come on guys team effort. Other waiters and waitresses in our area were hands down 100% better then our guy who we could see had one other table of 4 besides us, who came after us! Enjoy that $150.00 because we...

Loved it/ Average in ways. Fixed menu option Essay: First time at a Ruth Chris for my bday. Table for two. Fairly busy Saturday night. 7pm reservation. I've been wanting to try Ruth Chris for years. Started off with the crab stuffed mushroom appetizer. They were large and very tasty. The crab meat is mainly on the minced side. Small chunks here and there. Lump meat would maybe take these to the next level? 3.5 out of 5 stars on this. I liked them. Got the fixed menu. Starter, entre, and desert. Filet and shrimp entre. Started with the French onion soup of the day. The wine reduction overpowered the soup, imo. I learned that it's not house made. It was like eating a french onion wine soup with almost enough but not enough onions in it. I'd give this a 2 out of 5. I didn't care to finish it. Next up, the filet and shrimp and upgraded it to an 11oz. The filet was good and perfectly cooked to medium as asked, but it was seared a little too long i think. By the time you get toward the end while it's cooking on a 500° plate, the last oz or so is overcooked, and getting dry. The sear was very dark. However, it's was tender and tasty through most of it. It was a slightly above average filet. 3.5 out of 5. I'm not a regular of filet mignon or an expert so this might have been perfert to someone else. My friend got the ribeye and lobster tail. Both were excellent. Good size lobster tail and the ribeye was great at medium temp. 4 of 5 for the ribeye and lobster tail. The garlic mashed potatoes were good. The texture was a bit thin and a little above average taste. 3 of 5 The three shrimp it came with were perfectly grilled and a good size. Very tasty. Only 3 shrimp though? 4 of 5 We also got a side of creamed spinach. My friend LOVED it. The cheesecake desert with the fixed menu is small, but it was really good. 3.5 of 5

Our server Christian was great! Very attentive and prompt. Everyone else was very nice and professional. The manager did her rounds on the tables for a quick chat, making sure everyone was happy. So nice to see. The atmosphere was very pleasant and perfectly dimmed. Table and place settings were clean and perfectly set.

My first time impression is that it's a very good dining experience. The food overall that I had was a little below expectations for what you pay. Service and atmosphere is excellent and is probably what you're paying for over the excellence of the food. The food is really good, but don't expect to be blown away the first time there for what you pay. I can only speak on the food we got on that particular day. I would go back to have the experience again. Thank you Christian our server, and to my dear long time friend who took me here for...

This was the first time my wife and I have gone to Ruth's Chris Steak House. Our kids had given us two gift certificates, so we planned on a nice enjoyable dinner. We arrived at 8.05pm for an 8.15pm reservation. We were told that it would be closer to 8.15pm, so we told them we would have a drink at the bar. We were told they would come for us when the table was ready. Still waiting at 8.35pm, we had two seats at the bar so decided to stay at the bar. Another couple standing next to us had a reservation for 8.15pm as well, but weren't seated until 8.50pm. 8.55pm we placed our order, started with an appetizer and ordered the 'Porterhouse for two'. We asked if we could change the sides that came with the meal, and were told for an 'up charge', it could be done. We were fine with this. 15 minutes later, our appetizer came out, (Calamari). This was very good. 30 minutes later, our bartender had come over to let us know that they did not have any porterhouse left. Seriously!? A steak house that ran out of porterhouse!? We decided on a t'bone steak for myself, (Rare) and my wife ordered lamb chops, (Medium rare). 10.10pm, our meals arrived. The two meats, and a side of brussels sprouts and potatoes au gratin. The potatoes, looked and tasted like they were forgotten then 'whipped up' last minute, being undercooked and the potatoes still a little hard. I could only eat 3/4 of my steak because there was grizzly through out the steak. My wife's lamb chops were no where near medium rare. So tough, she couldn't cut them to eat the without a struggle. We asked for a steak knife, and they didn't have one. They brought another knife, just like the one that my wife had, hoping it was sharper. No such luck. It was 10.45pm, and the smell of cleaning products put the 'icing on the cake'. No dessert for us. We had enough. What we anticipated to be a nice, day after, Valentine's dinner, turned in to an extremely disappointing night. A manager from the restaurant was in contact with me to try to resolve the issues on February 20th. A gift certificate was to be sent to us to come back to try to experience this location again, to show us that this is not the normal experience when dining with them. A call from a regional manager was to be expected within 2 to 3 days. It is now March 8th, and neither has happened. This just shows how important customer service really is to them. We will be going back to Char or Wolfgang's for a true steak dinner...
