Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Plainview

If you don't live here, keep driving to Wabasha or Rochester. Total time wasted here: 45minutes. 45minutes to take my order, get our food, eat it, then get ice cream. It took 5-10min to take my order since the cashier messed up and couldn't figure out how to give me cash back for her ringing up an extra drink and rang up the fries and sandwiches separate - no combo price! AND then she tries to convince us that a combo doesn't include a drink...seriously? We request to see the receipt, she prints out the credit card receipt and says the meal is not itemized on the receipts-we point out to her there are two receipts when printed-so she gives it to us, we point it out and then at that point she becomes convinced that she charged us too much. OK! So now there is the TWENTY minute wait for a HUGE order that consists of: TWO double cheeseburgers and TWO medium fries. At 20min I walked up and asked what the delay was, since there were more than 8 cars go through the drive-thru with no wait, and here the food was sitting, waiting to be put on the tray...My wife and I ate our partially cold, much-delayed dinner and thought "ok, we'll give them a chance to redeem themselves by getting a couple Blizzards...they're easy to make, should be quick." The cashier takes our order, and this time decides to make us wait rather than signal others behind the counter to aid making blizzards. Three helping the drive-up window (singular), and the stellar cashier to help us. So she take three other orders, then gets around to making our Blizzards 5-10minutes later. I was about ready to throw a chair through the window. This business has ALL the criteria to fail: poor service (see examples up if you forgot), undereducated staff, dirty staff (messy shirts, untucked, just-woke-up hair), dirty bathrooms, no napkins (they had a bag behind the counter), 'ancient' equipment (circa late-1990s to take my order and communicate it to the back), unavailable plasticware (don't worry, they have a huge dirty plastic bag with ketchup stains on it full of the spoons below the counter), dirty tables that hadn't been wiped down...I could go on but I already wasted enough time sitting there for sh!tty food and now writing this review. I hope you did make it this far in the review and have decided to keep driving. Please do not waste your time on this horrible DQ location. Neither fast food...

One of the worst experiences at a fast food place here. Unbelievable. Yes, I know this isn't upscale dining but I also know it's a hot dog with cheese and chili, So it should be pretty simple, right?

The menu says Chili Cheese dog so I paid for the chili cheese dog. They delivered a chili cheese dog without the cheese.

The mistake is okay but the presentation was very bad - I wouldn't feed this to my cat. The Hot dog was way overcooked and the chili looked like it was from last week.

So I went back very calmly and I said hey can you remake this? A couple of minutes later the manager sends the cookout and says you're going to have to pay extra because you only paid for the chili, not the cheese.

I said well On the menu it says chili cheese why can't you just add the cheese? I mean you delivered something that was non-edible. Maybe you could just put in the cheese. Not a bad business decision.

But instead he said the manager insisted I had to pay. Unbelievable.

It's just the ridiculous standard and decision making of your average retail outlet is absurd.

I know where I'm never going back. It would be this Dairy Queen. Who knows. Maybe all Dairy Queens. I...

If I could give 0 stars I would! Waited 20 minutes to get to the window through the drive through... only 4 cars in front of us! The order speaker was not working correctly and they could not hear us properly... get up to the window and get our order... first off they completly missed a smoothie we ordered and my malt was liquid... come to find out only one machine was working and it wasnt working correctly and the workers were running it too much causing the ice cream to be liquid... but no one told us before and the guy at the window offered no solution no money back... not even an apology! We get home and my fries are cold... and my flamethrower burger is absolutely drowning in sauce... I could barely choke the thing down... we also had an order of JUST chicken strips and they gave us fries and a drink.... just horrible service and this NOT...
