As a longtime Panera customer and former Panera lover/employee, this will be my last time eating here. To start with Panera in general, the food quality and portion sizes have gone downhill significantly while the cost has gotten astronomical. A bowl of soup is now $9 and my wife, 2 year old, and I left spending $50 on a meal without drinks.
This specific Panera was a huge disappointment. Customer service, which used to be a huge deal (I worked here in high school and they drilled it into my head). With the kiosks, you’ll have employees working behind the desk that will just completely ignore customers. I walked up to a customer to let them know to use the kiosk as the employee was pointedly ignoring her. The staff making food wouldn’t make eye contact or speak to me either when I picked up the food. The food itself was below average - my French onion soup was lukewarm, my wife couldn’t finish her wilting salad, and my daughter’s sandwich felt like it came out of a microwave. There was food and trash all over the floor/tables and the restrooms were gross - both men’s and my wife confirmed the women’s. To top it all off, big ol’ cockroach right as you walk into the restrooms.
I remember the passion that the trainer had on my first day where I had a 4 hour intro class. As a kid I thought it was corny, but as an adult it’s cool that they once put that kind of focus into their employees. Those days are gone - Panera is now a below average fast...
Read moreThis store is in an amazing location, super close to the office I work at, but I don't think I'll be back.
Besides the cashier(s), the rest of the staff seems to not care about what's happening with orders. Also, this location marks stuff out of stock in the system, when in reality, they have it. My example is the new Caffeinated blends you can find by the Papaya Green Tea.
While that doesn't effect me, since I mostly order through the kiosk in person, for those who are ordering ahead for their friends and families, this is super misleading. I imagine it would be super frustrating to find the item you wanted in stock after picking a substitution you were less excited for.
In addition, previously, I placed a rapid pickup order 30 minutes in advance, and when I arrived (40 minutes after placing), it felt like a struggle to recieve it. Not only that, but people waiting before me were still waiting when I left, even though they ordered before me.
While I have the new drink subscription (highly recommend), and this location was the most convienient for me to utilize the drink every 2 hours, I'll be going to a location further away to avoid the confusion I've...
Read moreI went to the tennyson location in plano, after waiting for about 2-3 minutes in the drive through, a lady named (nicole) which I'm assuming was the manager, took my order. I had ordered a sesame bagel with coffee. When i pulled up to the window the made me wait some more and she said that if i could pull up to the spot in the front and i told her that i was on a time crunch and she assured me that my order was in the oven and that it will be out shortly. Couple of minutes later she comes out and tells me that they are out of sesame bagel (so i would like to know why was i lied to? And why she didnt just tell me that they are out, i could've chose something else) so i told her that i didnt have time to wait, and she had no problem letting me go without a refund. This is the reason why i always go to starbucks, yes u pay a little bit more but the quality of customer service u receive is amazing. Panera needs to invest in hiring people who are not entitled and liars. This is absolutely unacceptable. If i could give no stars i would but unfortunately google doesnt let u give no stars. This place doesnt even...
