El Campesino — Restaurant in Pleasant Township

My family have been coming to this location for over 18 years and never had any problems. Today (7/21/2019) however was different. My family arrived and it wasn't that busy. We came in around 5:20pm and got seated right away. As soon as we sat down my 12 year old found DIRTY fork under the table. The next issue was she touched gum that someone had recently put on the bottom of the table!! So I took her to wash her hands and the toilet was out of toilet paper. The waitress had us sitting there for over 10 minutes with empty drinks while she just walked around. At this point we didnt want to eat here and wanted the check. The manager started delivering the food and I politely told him no thank you. We just want the check. Charge us for the drinks, beer and chips. The waitress then brought us the check and TRIED TO CHARGE US FOR FOOD WE DIDNT GET OR TOUCH (2 plates and rice had been set down but no one touched it). When I went to pay they had the manager come up because I refused to pay for food we didnt touch or want or get. (Because we chose to leave because of the dirtiness and bad service) . the manager is great and took care of it. He was very nicr and is the ONLY reason I left a 2 star review instead of 1.

We left and headed to Ralphies on Mount Vernon. They thankfully had waitresses that check on their tables and clean up!.

If you run a restaurant make sure the dirty stuff is cleaned before seating someone else and make sure your staff isnt wandering around doing nothing leaving multiple tables...

YUCK. Best I can say. If I could leave this review without stars I would. YUCK best describes the hostess maybe say hello or good evening. Didn't happen. Seated my husband and I 10 minutes later someone threw chips and salsa on our table still no acknowledgement. 30 minutes later when all I wanted was to leave after our waiter checked in 3xs with the table behind us 2xs with the table in front of us still no one asked if we would like beverages. Someone finally came said can I get your drinks and order? Mind you the table of 8 that were seated way after us were already enjoying their margar and had their appetirs. YUCK because I ordered a dip appetizer costs 8.50 no tortilla chips included had to ask for some since we were left with only the complimentary tortillas and salsa for a half an hour. YUCK cause the queso was so microwaved it had lumps and ran off the chips. YUCK cause my beef chimichangas were like soup. YUCK cause my husbands seafood enchiladas left him sick after a gross aftertaste. We've eaten here several times over the years never again. I understand staffing issues but none of what I experienced was due to this. 55 dollars later save your money go to taco bell...

Nice place and great food but...as someone who works right by here and WOULD/COULD order frequently , but we don't at work because of how slow they are to those who pick up. Walked in to pick up an online order. I was told 10 min on the phone. I waited to pick up 20 mins after cause I didn't want to have to wait on my food. Waited for the lady to cash out one woman who paid for 8 different separate orders with 8 different payment methods. Ok. I wait for a table of 6 to be seated. Ok. I wait for another pick up order to be brought out for Door Dash even though they weren't there. Ok. Then she FINALLY asks my order name. Brings the small singular meal out. Sets it down by my $20 sitting on the counter (order was $19.95) & proceeds to take a woman who JUST seconds ago walked out from the dining area and says "let me cash her out first" What?!? Me and my food are already here and my money ..I've waited for so long. That is horrible service. By the time I got my food and got back I had 10 mins to eat & enjoy it.
