I showed up earlier than my friend, and I was taking her out for her bday. After seeing only 2 tables but a few people coming in for to go orders, I went up and asked if it was going to take long for the food. The girl there was a high schooler and said about 15-20 mins because we are pretty busy. Ok.... only 2 tables so I said okay and asked for a cappuccino. She said uh it's broken. Then I asked for a San Pellegrino. She had no clue what I was talking about and asked if it was in the case. I said no. Then she asked someone else and said I don't even know how to pronounce it but do we have san something. Then the other girl said yeah there. It was not san pellegrino it was pierre. Okay but that is not what it said on their menu. So I also bought a bag of chips and paid. Since the chips were not behind the counter I grabbed them and started to eat them. She left me at the counter with my chips to help a to go person who walked in. Then a few mins later my friend arrives. I told her about the wait time for food. Then I finally get my drink The girl pounds it hard on the counter and says "here, this is yours." I looked at my friend and said let's go elsewhere. The drink wasn't even cold. She didn't offer me a cup so I could get ice. I will find another restaurant to eat this same food. When I tried calling durning business hours the phone just kept ringing. So I couldn't tell a manager. Oh...
Read moreImportant note: as of this writing, they have temporary hours posted--they are now CLOSED from 2pm to 5pm Mon-Sat, and all day Sunday. I don't know how long that'll be in effect. Call ahead if you aren't sure, and make sure you go when they're open! Now, the actual review...
Easily one of the best restaurants in the QC. Not for fancy white tablecloths or dinner jackets or anything like that--just food you won't forget, at around $12 a person.
You'll have to wait a bit after ordering. That's because they're making your food fresh. Be patient--they'll bring it out to your table soon enough, it'll be worth it.
If you're not sure what to order, try one of the chicken wraps. When you get it, the rice is still hot, the lettuce still crisp, and the chicken is always well-seasoned. It feels like a true meal, not one of those sad "I'll order a wrap because I'm dieting" concessions you get at other restaurants. You could probably live on these and be in perfect health, though. Some of the wrap options are a little spicy if you like that (or want to avoid it); ask the person taking your order.
Try a side of hummus too. Their hummus is fantastic, it's NOT just Sabra heated up. It's warm, rich, creamy, and an incredible comfort food. Get an extra order of pita bread, or just scrape up the last of the hummus with your fork--I...
Read moreI was looking forward to eating here while we were in town for Little League baseball. We were staying in Moline and looked online before we drove over. Google said the restaurant was currently closed but their website said they were open. Their Facebook page made no mention of them being closed. I tried to call first but no one answered. We drove over to find a sign on the door that they were on vacation and would reopen Monday, 7/25. Wish you would have put that online or even the voicemail but whatever. It would have saved us a trip but not a big deal, we'll be back.
What I did have a problem with was on the 7/25 we went up to Field of Dreams with the rest of the team. On our way back the team went to lunch together in Dubuque. We decided not to go with the team and drive down to Olive Tree for lunch. So over an hour later we pull up to Olive Tree to find a new sign on the door that says they'll be back August 1st!
What a waste of time! I felt so bad for my son that we didn't eat with the team because we had one last chance to eat at Olive Tree which he wanted to try too. Just ridiculous that you can't put this info online and then don't even open when you say you're going to. Extremely bad way of doing business. I see I'm not the only reviewer that found you were closed. Happened to me twice and won't...
