I rarely ever leave reviews, and especially bad reviews but I wasnt impressed at all, and quite honestly was shocked at the service I received. This was my first time coming to Smoothie King, I was very excited to try it out. I love smoothies and was hoping it would be a good experience. First off let's get this out of the way. There were two people working, an older woman who looked like she belonged on Dance Moms and a younger woman in her twenties. Unfortunately for me, the older man took my order. She was rude to the people in front of me in line and rude to me as well. I wanted to get a spinach pineapple smoothie. She asked me if I wanted it vegan or veggie (I had no idea there was a difference.) I told her veggie was fine, then she very rudely told me that smoothie doesn't exist and asked what I was looking at. I pointed at it on the menu. She said "THATS VEGAN." super rudely, even though I was actually pointing out the veggie version. She then steamrolled me into ordering a medium instead of the small I actually wanted. Oh well, I guess. Her coworker/employee came over to grab the ticket so she could make my smoothie and she was super rude and unkind to her as well. I wish her coworker/employee had made my smoothie, because, it sure didn't look like there was any spinach in my drink. There may have been, I don't know, this is my first time here, but it didn't look like it. Then as I was waiting for my smoothie I watched as she berated and bullied her coworker/employee for how she was making a customer's smoothie. I understand that places like this have systems in place for efficiency (I worked at Starbucks for six years), but for her to be SO unkind to her employee/coworker really rubbed me the wrong way. Thats a discussion for later. Or you can say "Hey, it might make you more efficient if you do it x way, instead of y way. If yoy want i can walk you through it." Dont berate your employee in front of customers. More than the mediocre smoothie, I care about seeing amployees being treated with kindness by their supervisors/fellow employees. And THAT is why I won't be back. You can be rude to me, you can make me feel like an idiot for ordering wrong on my first visit, you can make mediocre smoothies, but you sure better be nice to your staff. Anyway, maybe one day I'll go to a different location and have a better experience, but I won't be back to...
Read moreHorribly slow service with obtuse staff-- DO NOT got here unless you want to wait 20-30 minutes for a smoothie. I went into this Smoothie King twice in the past week, including today. Last week there was a huge line of people waiting for smoothies and 3 people behind the counter. One person went in the back and didn't come back for the 30+ minutes I stood there and waited for my smoothie, while the other two were spread thin taking new orders and preparing orders for the now 12+ people waiting. Where was the 3rd person and why weren't they helping with such a long line? It's ridiculous to wait 30 minutes for a smoothie. Today I looked in the store before I decided to order, considering last week's experience. This time I was the ONLY person in the store, two people behind the counter. One was a middle-aged blond lady and the other was a tall younger gentleman. As the lady rung me up, more people started to come in. I finished paying and she WALKED IN THE BACK AND DIDN'T COME OUT! More and more people came in, and the guy had to take everyone's orders and start preparing all of those smoothies himself. Even though I was the first order, he walked away from my smoothie in the blender to start preparing other orders so I stood there for 10 minutes as more people poured into the store. Why are staff going into the back to leave their co-workers out there alone, with a line of people growing impatient due to the unnecessary wait time? This place has been open for months, and this is not rocket science. In fact, I think the Smoothie King ingredient workflow is to ensure there are not long wait times. I've been a Smoothie King customer for over 10 years (go out of my way to visit their kiosk at O'Hare when I fly there, that's how much I love them), and was excited when the QC finally got one. But 2 horrible experiences in 1 week means they've just lost a customer. I'll get my smoothies at the local non-chain smoothie place...
Read moreOne star is too many. My fiancé and I have been in here a handful of times, and this morning is the last. We were excited about this place, as it is so close to our gym, but it seems like each time there has been some sort of issue and today was completely over the top! First off, we came in and our initial “greeting” was the solo staff muttering that she’d be with us in a minute. She then continued to casually cut strawberries while she face timed on her phone with a man. When she finally approached the register, she accused my fiancé of “giving her a look”. He explained that we’re kind of in a hurry. After that, she went toward the back, still on the phone, telling the person she’d have to call him back because we “came in with attitude”. We waited for at least 20 minutes, during with time she took the order and made the smoothie for someone that came in after us. We continued to wait while she began making bowls for another customer (also after us but stated he had an online order) and then when we asked for our shakes, which were sitting in the blenders, she told us VERY rudely that we just needed to be patient because she just got there at 7:00 and was by herself. The time was now 8:20. She told us we would have to wait until she was done making the other guys bowls and it would be another 15-20 minutes. She told us it’s not her fault our smoothies are “difficult”. We literally ordered straight off the board. No additions, no substitutions. We asked for our money back. She refused. We asked her to just pour our smoothies in cups and give them to us. She refused. We left with no smoothies and no refund. Not one of the words out of her mouth were customer friendly or any attempt whatsoever of being professionally courteous. Completely rediculous!! We will definitely be finding an alternative...
