Cafe Chris — Restaurant in Pleasanton

I have been craving the food here since last month cuz I no longer live in pleasanton but I'm so disappointed. The pineapple was spoiled the apples are brown. And I'm not sure why but the avocado was brown instead of green. 8 to 9 bucks a plate and this is what we get. Gross. Well I guess if your gonna say that's funny or odd. The person who also ordered the same plate and is a long time friend of the owner was very very disappointed as well. Should be very disappointed in trying to cut corners . Maybe you should learn quality not quantity. Not to mention can fruit the pineapple was spoiled and the avocado was brown. Maybe you cut the avocado that day and open the can that day but it's doesn't make it fresh. Shame on you. I was in town after meeting with sellers wanting to Lu their home on the market. While waiting for my next appointment, I stopped by to have lunch at Cafe Chris. Restaurant was packed but wait staff managed to greet and I thought it was nice and welcoming! They offer a variety of food. I got the hamburger steak and it came with mashed potatoes and veggies. It was quite delicious. The meal came with a choice of a dinner salad or fruit salad and I opted for the fruit salad. Good comfort food to have. On their menu, they offer keto diet friendly food such as chicken salad serve in a big tomato. There’s plenty of parking and they have good amount of table as well. Generic. That's the impression I was left with here. VERY friendly staff though. I'm referring to the food. I had the chicken fried steak. Needed salt IMO, but I understand not over salting a dish to be able to serve to a wider audience. However the size of the meat VS the amount of batter was crazy to me. On a very refreshing plus note, the fries are perfect. Crispy and tasty. Unless my bride wants to go back, my truck won't find its way back there.
